Vivendi Confirms Double Fine Deal
by Chris Remo, Sep 08, 2006 2:13pm PDTPublisher Vivendi Games has officially confirmed its deal with developer Double Fine Productions, first uncovered last week. The agreement will see Vivendi's Sierra Entertainment label publish the next game from the studio founded by design veteran Tim Schafer (Full Throttle, Grim Fandango). Interestingly, the press release subheadline refers to the game as a "Tim Schafer title," promoting a level of name recognition relatively uncommon in the games industry. No details were given on the game's platforms or genre(s).

As mentioned earlier, Double Fine is shacking up with Vivendi for its next game, and great news that is. Now slightly more interesting is the fact that the game, a "brand new creation", will be published under the Sierra banner.
