UT2007 Demo Plans
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 29, 2006 6:11am PDTIn case you were wondering about Unreal Tournament 2007 demo plans, this post by Steve Polge on the Epic Games forums mentions that a demo will be released "long enough before we go gold to be able to incorporate feedback". Polge also mentions that well over 40 maps for the game are currently in development, though some of those might be cut before release. Thanks Voodoo Extreme.

I find it amusing that UT2004 came out in 2004 and 07 will come out in 07. With publishers promising episodic content every 6 months and Blizzard promising an expansion every 12. Come on, Blizzard of all companies promising timely releases? Is there anyone who hears stuff like that and doesn't think 'yeah right.'
Don't get me wrong, I prefer 'done right' to 'done now', but it's like the people making these statements have never heard that videogames sometimes take longer to make than anticipated.
My point is, I'd bet money we won't even see the demo until well into 07.
