sooner or later someone will figure out it's a bad idea to release screenshots of RTS games at ground-level.

      ...right?

(I did enjoy the full game, though, I might pick this up down the road)

Yep same. I'll let the price tag decide.

Supreme Commander looks even sexier at ground level as it does zoomed out.

In the games' defense, 99% you're a the zoomed out level like any RTS. This goes for the space combat as well, so these shots are showing you the up close for whatever reason

      Even zoomed out = ugly.

Did petroglyph not watch the Dawn of War cutscenes? My god, the close up is hideous.

the game is hardly that ugly so stop exaggerating. my CPU is neutered but after i conquered the galaxy 10 times i let my cousin borrow it on his 3400+ 64.

with graphics maxed it looks good actually, especially the explosion effects and the look of a damaged Star Destroyer slowy splitting and the pieces floating dead in space.

funnest parts? when rebel leaders think they're safe hiding in buildings and i TIE bomb them to death. but the game still isn't "great". the only prior RTS i've played is C&C, and this game is nothing like it.

if graphics are so important you might think more people would be playing quake4 than quakeworld, a 10 year old game.

check my post history.... said it was the worst game i've ever played a while back.

doesn't stop me from defending a few parts of it especially when the biggest complains are about "GRAFIX".
