  • Looks great. Seen the new Ep2 trailer though? Looks pretty sweet, although, note to Valve: I'm SICK of fighting gunships, helicopters and striders in the same old ways. The strider buster sounds interesting, but we REALLY need a new play dynamic here. If I ever have to do the same exact rocket thing again, I'll scream: and gunships are basically exactly like more mobile striders. The heli is interesting, but again, we need more gameplay dynamics here. How about striders and foes that actually run away and get repaired when they are hurting? How about they get more interesting defenses (like an energy sheild akin to the ones in the citadel?) that we have to figure out how to get around or temporarily disable with something?

    And how about some REAL new weapons that are actually creative on the level of the physics gun? The black hole effect included but not used in Ep1 comes to mind. Or adding the SLAMs to the game. Or a gun that truly feels meaty, like the OICW from the trailers?

    Or how about a gun that sprays oil that you can light on fire with gunfire so as to set traps (not a flame thrower, that's too conventional)? Anything. The possibilities for fun stuff are limitless. Shotguns are... boring.
