EA Picks Up Phenomic
by Chris Remo, Aug 22, 2006 4:59pm PDTGameSpot has translated a report from German publication Die Welt stating that Electronic Arts has acquired German developer Phenomic. Phenomic is the studio behind the SpellForce series of strategy-tinged RPGs. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Die Welt expects an official announcement to be issued by EA during its press conference at the Leipzig Games Convention tomorrow. The studio will reportedly be named EA Phenomic, and will retain its current offices and staff. EA was not available for comment at press time. Update: EA has just issued a press release confirming the acquisition. Phenomic will become part of EA's European studio system and will be renamed EA Phenomic.
