Two demos of the third person action game El Matador are now available, each offering a single mission despite the fact that both downloads are nearly a gig. Grab demo one here and demo two here. Thanks Blues News.

quick save/load is broken apparently so you have to reload the level each time. I turned the difficulty to easy to counter this, since the load times are pretty long and I didn't want to die a lot.

el matador seems to play just like max payne in concept, as a third person shooter where you can slow down time. there's gratutious blood, and environmental damage in places (support columns in a garage of the second demo I played seem to lose big chunks of themselves but I don't know if it's scripted.) a squad also seems to join you at times but I got mine killed screwing around so I don't how much they do. I do know when they landed they blew a door open and ran off without me to kill guys which I thought was cool. as I said this is very much like max payne, same weapon types and selection, same slow mo moves, same health kits all over the place idea (except they are auto use I think) The graphics run a bit flakey for me, but my system isn't that great anymore, and the game is running all sorts of shadowing and lighting effects. overall, this is not OMG SO FUN I CUM MY PANTS, but it's not the worst it could be for an action game. I don't expect it to outdo max payne in terms of quality by any means though.
