F.E.A.R. Combat Released

As expected, F.E.A.R. Combat is now available. The 1.8gb download includes the entire multiplayer portion of Monolith's 2005 first person shooter. To play you'll need to grab a key from joinfear.com.

F.E.A.R. Combat features: - 10 multiplayer game modes. - 19 multiplayer maps. - 12 different weapons. - Punkbuster support for anti-cheat support. - The capability to download user generated content.

  • Maybe it's just me, but have any long time FEAR players noticed that the graphics have gotten worse?

    I've actually had FEAR crash (or otherwise look terrible) twice since I last played it (patch ~1.04). Even stranger is that now I can see visual tears in polygons (seeing through textures and whatnot). I even had a strange instance where I somehow fell through a buggy-looking wall to a bloody and untimely death.

    I did "upgrade" my video card between then and now, from a 7800GT to a 7900GT, but the visuals look a lot worse than they used to.

    Is this just me? Or did this release with 1.07 patch somehow bork the game?
