8Well, Steve and I have hit Babylon in Titan Quest after making our way through Egypt the past few days. The desert really wasn't all that exciting, but I did pick up some pimp armor and weapons so it's all good.

1.) Install new drivers if you haven't already

2.) Add Quinns repository
First, open your /etc/apt/sources.list in an editor.
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Then, insert one of these lines (each are various mirrors, and you can get deb-src from them too if you wish.)
deb http://www.beerorkid.com/compiz dapper main
deb http://ubuntu.compiz.net/ dapper main
Then, save and exit the editor and run one of these commands (again, various mirrors) to add key.
wget http://www.beerorkid.com/compiz/quinn.key.asc -O - | sudo apt-key add -
wget http://ubuntu.compiz.net/quinn.key.asc -O - | sudo apt-key add -
*Sometimes the key is out of date. If you get a key error, just ignore it. If you're a stickler for total security and get the error, just don't continue.
3.) Follow the "Howto: Compiz, XGL on Ubuntu for the morbidly lazy." guide.

I think the dev's designed the need system to allow vulnerable kill moments. We need to get people doing things to catch them with their pants down. Right now, elimination mode sucks, because the needs rarely factor into play. So, everyone mulls around the RED EYE zones, because they never need to go attend to their...well... needs.
Also, please bump up the 2 second witness time. This extremely short timer makes it damn near impossible to use weapons that require more than 1 hit to kill. It also kills the objective of the game: To use the weapons Mr. X pays more for using.
Right now, every one is an axe / gun whore.
PS - Switch it to Hunt mode to.

Earlier in our OFP Shackgoonbattle the Resistance force (my team) was defending some scientists and a city from the US guys (also human), the US guys had mortars, a Blackhawk, and some HMMWV's. Anyhow, the craziest part of the mission was when they started mortaring our position. You'd hear the distant "thump" of the mortar firing about a kilometer away, then there'd be silence for a bit. During that time Syixxs, myself, and the other guys would be urging everyone to get spread out, keep good interval, and get inside buildings if possible. After a short while we'd faintly hear the whoosh of the round coming in. "Incoming!" would be repeated over Teamspeak, and everyone would hunker down as the round screamed louder and louder, until FWOOMPH!, it would hit and explode in the town.
I can't think of any other in-game experiences that have ever been so harrowing as being under accurately modeled mortar fire in Flashpoint. The pucker factor was through the roof, it was insane. Fortunately none of us were killed by the mortars, but we did suffer a few wounded. We ended up beating off their attack, too, which was nice.
gg's to everyone who showed up. We ended up playing from ~6pm until 1:30am. Had a peak of 32 players and kept 25+ people until the end. :D

I finally finished Stephen King's "Bag of Bones". I say "finally" because I first picked it up YEARS ago. Literally... I dunno how long exactly but I looked at the store receipt I had been using as a bookmark and it was dated December 2002. It started really slow, and I can't tolerate slow in books, movies or games. So I'd read a bit, put it down, grab a Koontz or Little or Ketchum, pick it back up a few months later when I had nothing else to read, read a chapter, get bored, repeat process. But around halfway through the book, it finally picks up speed, and then its nonstop from there, and goes from being boring to being pulse-pounding Stephen King. I fell in love with some of the characters and was really bummed when I was done because I didn't want to be done. So I highly recommend it for anyone who is a King fan but hasn't read this yet because it is a ghost story, and those usually suck, or for anyone who likes a good mystery.

It works like a treat on any avi movies or video files like tv episodes and what not, but DVD playback and files of really high resolutions it doesnt support. The big problem is DVD playback. Anyone got any idea's what the problem might be? Im running latest forceware drivers and using VLC (since its a dvd from another region).
