Maths men

I'm trying to come up with a rating system for a website I'm making. I decided that the overall rating should be out of 5, but then this rating is calculated from 5 subcategories each a rating out of 5.

Now adding up each sub-rating and dividing by 5 produces fractions which I don't want. Would it be best to just round to the nearest whole number or is there a better way of doing this?

Oblivion Menz!!

Ok, now Im in the deep stages on Vampirism. You can really notice it on my face. So, I go to do Mage quests and the person who I am suppose to get more info from says, "Get away from me you vile creatue!" My thought was to go cleanse myself in the temple, but that didnt work. Is there another way to do this /wo cleansing myself of Vampirism. Im still in the same town. I assume that every town will be like that to me now. Im in that town where the mage guild quest is this: You have to go in what's his name's dream and recover different parts of his mind.

It reminded me of the game Max Payne: where you go inside your own dream after getting all druged up. You would follow a bloodtrail thru the house and to your baby's room. The baby's cry sound effect was cool, but it freaked me out.

Operation Flashpoint: Wargames League Shackgoonbattle Galleries]*

Picasa has made it incredibly easy for me to put together what I'm calling 'commented galleries' from our OFP sessions. Basically these are screenshot galleries with, you guessed it, embedded comments. This is a nice in-between method that's more accessible and informative than a simple folder full of screenshots yet is much easier to do than a full-blown AAR.

For those of you that would like to check out some of the screens from our latest sessions, there are four new galleries up - three of them from July (yes, we're pretty active these days), one from June.

The one from June 25th is an Escape & Evasion mission gone hilariously wrong (for the enemy) and right (for us). The enemy team mistakenly thought our four-man Special Forces team was trying to escape over a bridge, when infact we were attempting to cross it or ambush anyone trying to come to our side. They ended up running headfirst into a sustained, concentrated, well-coordinated ambush. You can see what happened in the gallery. =)

Last night's session involved a new mission by Cornbeef that had a new "group tracking" method set up that allowed us to work more effectively as squads. Each squad consisted of three elements - a Headquarters one and two five-man fireteams. Each group was labeled and tracked in realtime on the map, which allowed us to more easily pull of squad formations and manuevers. As long as a radio was carried by a member of each group we'd get the realtime map updates. It was a great mission, and hopefully we'll start to use that organizational method more in future Goon- or Shacker-created missions.

The session on July 2nd was a bit rougher than the other ones, but overall things went pretty well and we played some nice missions.

rails programmers i have a problem that's driving me nuts. I have a property on my user object called "send_message_emails" which is a boolean. it's stored in the database as a boolean field.

i have this in my "edit profile" page:

```
but for some reason when i hit this page with a user who has send_message_emails set to true, the radio button is "not" selected. if i print out the value on the page it's "true"

i've tried: "true", "True", "t", "1", but none of it works. any ideas?

I am having buyer's remorse on the house I bought 8 months ago. It's way too big for what I need. I am not married and really don't have all that much furniture. I just don't have the time to properly take care of the house, plus having 3 roommates doesn't help. It's a great deal in that I am only paying like $500 a month for a 200k house because of my roommates, but I would much rather live in a small condo or loft downtown than this huge ass house in teh burbs.. living next to soccer moms and families and such.

I guess I have 2 options. I could try to sell my house which is probably a bad idea. I would have to pay capital gains taxes(i think?), and I would more than likely lose money from all the fees you have to pay when you sell your house.

The other option is to try and rent out the entire house, and buy something else downtown.

Anyone ever been in the same situation? what would you recommend?

1) So shack, how do you feel about replayability? I figure there are two kinds - games that you replay from start to beginning, usually for the story/fun of it (Planescape: Torment, KOTOR, Super Metroid), and games that stack replays (Chrono Trigger, Castlevania: DS, NSMB).

Personally, I'm not too huge on the latter. Unless the experience is drastically different in the stackable replay, I tend to get bored because it's too easy. Castlevania DS is a cake with my souls and items already, so it's just farming for 100%. NSMB is fun because you can get to worlds and places you missed the first time, and Chrono Trigger is the mother of all stackable replays as you can totally change the game experience and outcome.

The first type, the standard 'start from the beginning and replay) only occurs for me in truly exceptional stories, often this means RPGs, the rest of the time it's just classics I want to play again - KOTOR, P:T, BG1/1, LttP, SM, Fallouts.

2) This is where we recommend good dvd burners, my old scsi burner died.

Now I've done with, for years we worked hard, simply creating mods or tc's which lead the company to a pretty decent success, however, we also knew where our place was.

This kid would have had FAR more success making valuware titles that sell for $9.99 at a Walmart, than attempting to "De-throne WoW" with is unpaid staff, with no job and barely able to pay his rent.

I had a full time job, came home at 6pm worked til 3 am for 4 years before anythign happened.

This makes me sad.

Hey just a reminder to all you "fat" DS owners out there. When the Wii comes out it's pretty likely there will be some connectivity between the DS and Wii games, maybe something like Zelda: The Four Swords. I'm picking up two DS Lites but holding onto the old "fat" DS's for this reason. Just thought I'd throw this thought out so some people wouldn't be saying..."Damn I wish I would've held onto my "fat" DS so I'd have another controller for this game!" Once again, just an idea for any future Wii owners since I know a lot of us will be picking it up.

Im looking to buy a new Bike soon. I'd be mostly on paved bike trails, but I'd like to have the option of taking it on some real mountain bike trails maybe like once a month.
