#3 - Pyrogen: You can preload it right now.
#13 - Patching: When a patch comes out, we get a copy of it as well so we can simultaneously release the patch. Only difference is that you can still play while it patches the game instead of downloading, installing, and then playing.
#15 yep.... #17 Yep again...
#19 Too many distros... I agree as well, and one point to note is that when you turn us off, it unloads and does not leave any malware behind to watch what you are doing, or sit in your tray eating up resources.
#20 Outside of the USA... Yes, we take international orders, and later tonight the first localization update will go out.. Once we get the language files translated, we will support 5 initial languages with many more to follow. The client is 100% unicode.
#21 Where to install... When you purchase/preload, thats the 2nd question it asks you.. Where do you want to put it. And with the desktop shortcut play, you will not need to see us when you play your game. The idea here is for us to be as transparent as possible. We are in this for the delivery of games, not to get in between you and your games.

My hope is that such an event will drive more people to accept the idea of buying games via online delivery, thus enabling less well-heeled developers to release online-only (if publishers are making pricing demands) without cutting off their entire market.

I am going to pre-order it from Future Shop here with the pre-order figurine, and then the 2 with the collector's edition. But if all that comes with the Triton pre-order then I would rather do that. But most likely not, which is the biggest boon to online distribution.

Plus, I'm a sucker for those pewter figurines.

They now let you play offline, and let you backup your game install directory to an optical disk. Good enough for me. I don't care for packaging or a manual for an FPS, and I was loathe to pay $60 bucks to get a single DVD install. This solves the problem, no disks at all. The Triton interface looks like a Jr. High School clas sproject, but it's functional enough. I bought Prey via the Triton website, downloaded the installer, and logged into my user account. There was Prey Preload in the "My Games" section. It's pre-loading right now, and if it unlocks on schedule, then I'm happy.
