It's interesting that he seems to completely recognize WoW as the dominant MMOs and that he doesn't even seem to be competing with them.
I think he's wrong about the scifi vs fantasy for MMOs though - SWG was fine with blasters - it's just the game was fundamentally broken and SOE basically got cold feet and started backtracking rather than trying to make the hard fixes. There's not been a strong scifi game but ranged combat is not the problem.
I'm not worried about the Transition to EA - after Origin and Bullfrog I think they learnt how to integrate a Developer better and Westwood did seem like it had a better experience.

Warhammer Online's going to suck if EA has a say in how Mythic will have to support their game post-release. If it's anything like with most EA games, namely lots of shitty expansion/booster packs and no bug fixes, then there's no way this will beat World of Warcraft.

When DAOC was released it wasn't even nearly finished. Half of the zones in the game didn't even drop items, totally ghetto.
Also now they are in "copy wow mode" They said people would never, ever get personal mounts, then wow comes out, and they add it. They cancelled imperator because they realized nobody but the hardcore would grind for XP after questing in WoW.
They also have the worst way of "balancing" characters I have ever seen. One day you could download a patch, logon, and your character would be completely worthless because all of their abilities were nerfed to hell.
Even if God comes down out of the sky and says that Warhammer is the best MMO ever I wouldn't touch a Mythic-EA product with a 10 foot pole.
