Wouldn't want anyone to miss this..head over to FileShack to download the Prey demo. Five singleplayer levels, two multiplayer maps, what more could you want out of a demo?

  • I know it is a little late to be posting in this comment page, but I wanted to give kudos to Human Head. I loved it. Good story-telling. Loved the new concepts and gameplay they introduced. There were many "Holy Crap" moments.

The opening sceane where your character is looking at himself (and talking to himself) in the mirror was great. Really got me into the character. I also liked the fact that he had a personality and a point of view in the world, flawed though it may be. It was better than being a generic, no-named, no-voiced and often no-faced, hero.

The new features/concepts were a blast. (changing gravity, moving fluidly through portals, changing sizes (WTF?), spirit-walking, new method of dealing with player death, etc...)

The animations were smooth and realistic. Gestures, body language, etc... I was even impressed with the crazy people. Animations were good.

You guys did a good job.
You have sold at least one box to someone on the Shack.

    Fuck the haters.

  • Guys,

I played the Prey demo and even with all the physics , the game is worst than Doom3, Quake 4 and Half-Life2. Sorry but the 3D Realm guys always want to be the top. I couldn't find the top on this demo.

At the end I was tired to be inside the spaceship. They talked about a revolution. The textures are the same of Doom3, nothing new.

    I agree with hawke:
Good enough demo. Seems kinda 'cliche' FPS though. I'm sure they did a great job, but if the story goes anything similar to:
    -Rescue Girlfriend
    -Try to Escape
-Save the Planet in the process.
Then I'm not that interested. I've played that story before about a million times.
