You guys have to realize that EA had a number of execs that absolutely hated Origin Systems. They wanted it to die with a burning passion and it took several years to kill because of it's positive cash flow (due soley to UO).

Assuming Mythic doesnt generate the same type of executive loathing (i.e. Don't piss in someone like Don Mattriks coffee) They may be ok, at least for awhile. Larry Probst looks like a giant idiot for saying MMO's are not a profitable space for EA to be in. Of course that was right after they attempted to relocate the entire UXO team and alot of their other teams to CA, and only a handful of people took their offers. (Which where good, management was six figures with a 25-50k signing bonus)

I see how this works. Very well then, EA, you leave me no choice but to boycott Warhammer until certain demands are met. My demands are that the Wing Commander and System Shock franchises are returned intact to their original owners, Chris Roberts and Warren Spector respectively, by, and no later than, the release of the Warhammer game.

Failure to abide by these terms and conditions may result in drunken streakers armed with toilet paper, shaving cream, and possibly boards-with-nails visiting your corporate offices. In addition, I can promise a very nasty letter containing various "Your Momma" insults of exceptionally poor quality.

You know. I read this earlier, and the first thing I thought was "FUCK. And I was so looking forward to that".

Now that I've had a few beers, I'm thinking "I hope this gets released. I hope EA doesn't fuck with Mythic in any way. I hope EA recognises how god damn cool Mythic are and funds their arses off. I need a new MMO that isn't so completely shallow like WoW is".

Don't boycott this game. Pre-order this shit. Mythic needs our support still. Don't let them disintegrate and get completely absorbed into the Cube. They are a separate entity until we stop buying games designed by them.

What a shame. I loved DOAC for so long, played it the first 4 years of it's life, Mythic did a great job with it on so many levels. They just never could attract new customers I guess, I can't see them selling out to EA unless they were hard up for $$$.
