So there's a big new World of Warcraft patch coming out today. Excited? Apparently you should be, with all kinds of new features and gameplay changes. Movie: You don't say much my friend, but when you do it's to the point, and I salute you for it.

  • Sometimes you just don't know wtf.

I built a new system recently and after a little setback with slipstreaming things got underway decently. Except that when I enable SPDIF playback (either in VLC or MPC) DVDs stutter.

The system is better in all respects than my previous one and it never had this sort of trouble. I've tried swapping PCI slots for my sound card, manually assigning IRQs to avoid conflicts, testing new/old drivers, disabling/enabling hardware acceleration, and nothing seems to resolve the issue.

I love computers and all, but this shit is so frustrating. I could have bought an HD-DVD player and a shitload of movies for this price and called it a day. I guess I'm a sucker for trials and tribulations :(
