A playable demo of EA Sports' new strategy/management game NFL Head Coach is now available from FileShack, allowing you to try the game's draft, practice and gameday portions. According to the game's official website, the full version of the game will be available as a download through the EA Downloader program.

Definitely a console game ported to the pc....maybe the full version will let you bind keys or play with a gamepad or something. The interface is pretty clunky, doesn't show me nearly enough information at once.

The other thing I didn't like was, the draft order didn't reflect last year's trade between the Broncos and Redskins - the Redskins still had their #22 pick that they had traded to the Broncos during the 2005 draft, and all the Broncos had was the 29! Guess I won't be trading up for Cutler when I start my reign of terror over the Broncos.

This is pretty damn cool. Takes me back to my days of running leagues using Micro-League Sports software.

I have to say, I'd like to see them do Baseball this way! I always prefered the sim sports / managerial side of gaming as opposed to twitchy games like Madden / NHL (pick-a-year) / etc.

This has my interest, big time.

Looks like a fun game, although the demo wasn't that good. I've always loved the management/dynasty part of football games. Downside to the demo:

1 - Only allowed to do the first day of the draft. I have no idea if you have to sign players after the draft or not. Would be nice to have included something about it.

2 - During the games, it's almost impossible to be able to do any shifts during a play. The play is way to fast and it doesn't pause the play when trying to adjust your coverage/line/etc.

3 - Overall gameplay seems too fast. Trying to work a trade for in between the other teams picking is literally impossible. I tried trading for the #5 pick after having #1 and by the time I could get it to go through, the team had already picked.

So does this just end on Day 1 of the draft with you unable to do anything with the picks? I'd like to at least see the interface for signing players and such =\ Oh well, seemed cool enough.

Just installed it. Menus seem nice. Much better than the recent EA games I've played on the Xbox (loading, choose drive to save to, saving, loading, loading menu, choose profile, loading profile, die, die, die). If this is really good then I have to ask, why couldn't they just have made Madden franchise mode like this? Oh wait, I know, because its EA... awesome.

So, I wanna know if this game will simulate you getting fired because you don't get along with the owner, or getting picked up by another franchise with more money when you have a good season.

Then you can make deals with some of your star players from your last team to follow you to your new job.
