AMD's 4x4 Plans

Are there really that many "enthusiasts" out there ? oO

Im not sure if Im a fan of all this dual stuff. A couple years ago a gaming computer and an enthuisest computer would pretty much be in the same catigory. Now hardware manufacturs are starting too really widen the gap. Between what ANYONE would need and whats avaible. I mean what on earth is a desktop user going too do with 4 cpu cores(becides run up a nice power bill)??? I know the people making this new hardware are just trying too make money. But there is nothing that you could possably want too do that would require 4 cpu cores and 4 graphics processors.
I consider my computer too be a pretty solid gaming platform. When I bought it, it had pretty much the fastest hardware avaible. Even now almost 2 years later it still plays all games perfectly. Im in no rush too upgrade seeing as my computer dose everything I need it too quite quickly.

This is a desperation move, because Intel is gonna roar back and hand AMD their ass in August. I'm hoping AMD can step back up to the table this fall or winter with a good response.

that is a serious money hat setup. to afford not one but TWO fx chips in one machine. ouuch

Well this is really old news other than the new AM2 chips supporting dual chips. Dual and quad boards (amd) have been around for a long time.
