Let's pretend I'm wanting to buy a house.
1. Should I go through a Realtor/Agent? I understand that they have a conflict of interest because the more I pay for the house, the higher their commission. Is it much harder to find/close on a house without an agent? What have you guys done when buying?
2. Should I pay cash? Assuming I have enough to just flat out buy a decent house... is it a good idea? I guess the other option would be to get a bank loan, then invest the money in a mutual fund with a higher interest rate than the loan or something? I'm also wanting to rent out a few of the rooms to students, so that could work to cover the loan payments while I just collect the investment interest...?

Is drinking alone problematic? Alcoholic-ish? I think it's fun to get a bit sloshed while playing games and shacking and doing things of that nature. However, a friend of mine was like 'drinking alone? that's bad stuff.'
I've only done it on weekends, and even then it's not every weekend. Did it the past few Fridays though.
Are there some rules here I should be aware of to be an acceptable?

The x1400 is ok for gaming, I've yet to load up HL2 or anything more than just Warcraft III but so far, so good. I'm sure it'd be alright with WoW
The Screen is glossy and all that, I thought I'd be annoyed but its fine. Its widescreen 1680x1050. Even in my office, the screen is so bright the reflectiveness isn't a huge issue. Its a user by user thing. If you use it solely in an office environment, I'd probably recommend against it, but as long as you can control the lighting, you should be fine. They totally should have a matte sxga+ screen.
It has a very solid feel and it looks sharp. If you have laptop/lcd you know how easy it is to distort the screen from the back. Not possible on this machine. Also the keyboard is setup perfectly. The keys don't have that springy feel that I love, but its definitely a good keyboard.
Gone is the ugly grey and blue scheme. Now its a sharp silver/white combo. I'm no longer ashamed to bring it out in class. :)
In the weight department, its just fine. I can pick it up with one hand and move around. Its just at the right weight to be portable without being too heavy. I'd let my mom carry it around.....well maybe not. But for a 15" machine its just fine.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it. When time and money affords, I'll probably try to put a 7800 go + more ram into it for maximum performance. For reference its a fully loaded e1505 with 1gb ram, bluetooth, 1.83 core duo processory and 256mb (128?) x1400 processor.

Its cheap, easy, and fun to play. The graphics are top-notch, with smooth animations that rarely seem mechanical. The variation between players is quite pronounced.
I didn't get much play on multiplayer, but want to soon. I think you can talk to eachother, but I was the only one talking. I'd like to get a shack tournament going this evening so we can all suck together.
If you get a good "rally" going and the ball just keeps going back and forth, the game puts you in "the zone". During this time the lights are dimmed in the arena except for a ring of light around the table. You find yourself locked into an epic struggle to steal the point. When you're in "the zone" the entire surround-mode shifts to be more hollow and echoed, enforcing the tunnel-vision feeling. The crowd is respectfully hushed, so all you hear is the struggle of both players as they feverishly try to keep returning the ball.
The 5.1 surround is put to very good use and is what I was most impressed by. I really feel like I'm in that arena. When the lights are on, the audience is very believable and they react most accurately. At the appropriate times, they'll cheer for a favorite player or just shout something. The audience never comes from everywhere at once, but seems to be made up of various elements that come together as a whole. I'll hear someone cough from behind my left shoulder, and someone in front of me might let out a "woot" and when it all comes together I feel like those guys bought tickets to see me play. The players have dialogue, too, specific to their country of origin. Luc had a lot to say and my wife happily translated his dusgust to me. Frogs are bad losers. Sound was one area where this game really shines, because it delivers a very immersive experience, which makes the game more fun to play.
Thats about it. Its a good game to have, and its quite challenging as well.

I've been playing some GTA3 again lately and damn I forgot how insanely funny Chatterbox radio is. Lazlo and Fernando is one excessively humourous skit that I will never tire of. As is the Tofu, bean salad karate freak skit. Damn funny stuff. ESPECIALLY while I am driving past a shitload of Yakuza spraying em all down from the comfort of my Maibatsu Monstrosity >:D

CARACAS, Venezuela - A U.S. company's video game simulating an invasion of Venezuela is supposed to hit the shelves next year, but it's already raising the ire of lawmakers loyal to President Hugo Chavez.
Chavez supporters in Venezuela's National Assembly suspect the makers of "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames" are doing Washington's bidding by drumming up support among Americans for an eventual move to overthrow Chavez.
"I think the U.S. government knows how to prepare campaigns of psychological terror so they can make things happen later," Congressman Ismael Garcia said, citing the video game developed by Los Angeles-based Pandemic Studios.

The senior partner of David P. Meyer & Associates and one of his representatives called me during the afternoon of October 21, 2005 to urgently request my signature on an attorney-client agreement - two days after the Class Action suit was filed; two days after they began their action against Apple; two days after the press had begun running the story. They then warned me that my family, friends, clients and I should expect to hear from the media and others interested in the iPod Nano Class Action suit.
