7The worst part about this year's E3 is that our favorite restaurant, Wokcano, is no longer in business. There are still a few locations around LA but the convenient S. Figueroa one no longer exists. I guess it was too awesome.

Rather than using shadows to mask your presence, you'll need to blend in with crowds - social stealth as Ubisoft puts it. The coolest parts about all of this are the ways that crowds react to your actions and the manners in which you can interact with them. As a simple example, you're able to gently push or shove villagers out of the way, depending on how quickly you need to be somewhere. Shoving someone will bring attention to the guards, so you'll want to play things cool and calm until the deed is done.

when we moved into this appt. together she agreed to pay half of the utilties. im afraid shes going to try to use the argument that since she was not here that she has no obligation to help pay the utlities. my counter argument will be that she agreed to pay half and if she doesnt i will take her to small claims just to prove a point. i will do it. it pisses me the fuck off when people do this shit. anyway, i have copies of all the checks she has written to me thus far for the utlities which would show she has been paying half of the amount.
anyway how feasible would you think this is? yes its petty to take someone to small claims for something this small but im not getting shitted on for this and i want to threaten her with legal action :\

And there has been a lot of talk about making a US version of Top Gear--an idea which I am vehemently opposed to.
"Why?" you ask. Because America's idea of "automotive journalism" is rubbish, and auto mags on TV are the WORST of the WORST. The american Auto journalist cow-tow to the people that pay for ads and provide them cars for test drives. They shy away from saying anything negative for fear of "biting the hand that feeds them".

We picked up a projector a couple of weeks ago. I've set it up temporarily and I absolutely love it. It is everything I wanted! Except it is turning into a huge pain in the ass! The problem is we don't (aparently) have any place to put the fucker. It even came with a bitching screen. Again, just no place to put it. Everything we have tried has turned out to not work.
We don't want to just return it because we got a kick ass deal on it. So, how do I sell something like this? I don't really want to dick around with ebay and eat what I would make on paypal fees. Craigslist is just pathetic for Wichita.
Any shackers want to buy a projector (720p), a pull up screen (80") and a pull down screen (76") and a 4 yr ultimate electronics warranty for $2500 :)

Well so far the game has been not too bad. The Character models and the boobies are very good. But it does feel like your playing hl2 at times, and the difficulty seems to be all over the place. One minute I'm killing 15 combine..er I mean sintek soldiers without being shot, and the next minute I'm being raped to death. BUT the one thing that bothers me the most is the level design. For fuck sakes do we have to play in sewers and warehouses ALL the time, I'm so sick of those levels I could puke. I'm not that far in so I hope the scenarios change. I'm not sure if its worth my $20 yet, but we'll see!

With sophisticated rumble capability and force feedback, the wheel will give gamers a three-dimensional sensation of control, Greenwalt said. For instance, let's say you take a sharp turn. If you let your hands off the wheel, it will automatically self correct. Also, with force-feedback, you will feel when the car is off traction during sharp turns. Greenwalt mentioned that the all racing games down the line will have to be compatible with the wheel as part of the certification process, and there is talk of updating PGR3 with a patch so it works as well.

I noticed that the desktop support guy had an E3 badge sitting on his desk from when he went on Wednesday. After I finished yammering about how awesome that must have been and how jealous I was, he said "Well shit. You want to borrow it? They don't check IDs"
My coworker then pointed out that I do happen to work for an airline and thus get to fly for free. He also pointed out that we had a flight leaving for LAX in about 40 minutes, so I could be there by noon.
So I did what any rational shacker would have done. I rushed to the airport and ran onto the plane just as they were closing the doors. I have to say it was completely fucking awesome.
I skipped the last Splinter Cell, but the new one is going to get my $60.
Whatever you've seen about Crysis does not compare to what it actually looks like. And the physics/world interaction is unbelievable. I didn't get to play it, but I watched a guy tear up a tree trunk with his machine gun, and the tree split and fell over. The jungle scenes are truly amazing. I can't wait for this one.
I also got to see Space Gost interview Peter Moore at the Gametap booth. So that was cool.
All in all, it was an awesome little adventure. And to think I started out yesterday expecting a boring day of TPS report bullshit. :)

Long story short, one of my clients threatened me yesterday. I won't get into it.
But I can say that I am having one heck of a fun time writing the response email, and I am looking for the perfect finisher to my email. I know that I am not the only person on the Shack who has dealt with psycho clients etc. ... post your best examples below FTW!

While Nintendo has created an impressive booth with 27 games running on even more stations, it is nearly impossible for most attendees to get a glimpse at the titles. A few minutes after the show opened, Nintendo estimated the wait to reach a game station at about four hours. By 10 am, the wait had increased to six hours. By our estimates, there were at least 1000 people in line waiting, especially for a first look at Ubisoft's Red Steel first person shooter.
Nintendo informed us that the playing time for each attendee is limited to five to 15 minutes, depending on the title. The last person standing in line mentioned that he feels that the Wii console "is the biggest thing at the show," but he still did not intend to spend most of the time of his "first E3" waiting in line. 30 minutes later, when still had not made even an inch forward, he decided to leave.

The problem is you have to shoot those minigun mutherfuckers in the head to kill them. If you do that the game thinks you are good and gives you more of them to kill. Shooting them in the chest doesn't work so well and you end up dying
