Sega wrapped up its daily pre-E3 game announcements this week with two final unveilings: Sonic Wild Fire (working title) for Wii, and Golden Axe for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Sonic Wild Fire stars, unsurprisingly, Sega mascot Sonic the Hedgehog. Set in Arabian Nights-inspired environments, the game uses the motion-sensing Wii controller to control Sonic's speedy dash through what the announcement describes as "his first solo adventure since the original Sonic The Hedgehog in 1991." Environments contain destructible elements as well as branching paths. Multiplayer mini-games are also included. Sonic Wild Fire is set to ship in 2007. Golden Axe, developed by Sega's newly acquired internal studio Secret Level, is a new title in the classic action RPG franchise first introduced with the original 1989 Golden Axe arcade game. Players can fight mounted or on foot with an "intense and unique combat experience." The announcement doesn't go into too much detail as to the specific gameplay or plot of the game, but reliable exclusive insider sources speculate that it may play something like a Golden Axe title. Golden Axe is set to ship in 2007.
