by Maarten Goldstein, Apr 27, 2006 8:34am PDTSo GameSpot came out with this Q&A on Madden Revolution. Not a big football fan but it sounds cool and is just a good example of how publishers are thinking of how to support the system. The controller seems like it's suited for the worst cases of controller rage ever though. You're already swinging it around and what not, I could easily see people throwing it when things go wrong. What's your opinion of it?
The album doesn't seem to mesh as well as previous but I'm hoping it grows on me more... also feels like their's more filler tracks on this than actual new songs.

ATTN: Anyone who is interested in a realistic wargaming experience. Also, all you Operation Flashpoint people.
What is Armed Assault?
ArmA is a semi-sequel to Operation Flashpoint. It uses an updated OFP engine and includes a new campaign (on a 400km^2 island) and lots of new features such as join-in-progress multiplayer, a grand-scale, persistant "Capture-The-Island" gametype for MP, leaning, and multiple gunner positions in vehicles (to name a few). It is NOT the game that was formerly called "Operation Flashpoint 2" (which is now referred to as "Game2" or "NGPCG"), but it IS going to be one hell of a hold-you-over until OFP2/Game2 is released. The current OFP Shack server will be changing over to ArmA once it's available, and you can expect lots of ShackTac and Goon gaming to happen on it.
On to the video...
This footage is from a build of the game from the end of last year, meaning... it's not visually up to par with the most recent shots, and it by no means is what the game will look like on release. There are lighting issues (the grass in particular is too dark relative to everything else), polish issues (such as the totally WIP map screen, which doesn't even look as good as OFP's original map screen), and so on and so forth. With all of that being said, it's still very cool to see what ArmA's shaping up to be.
You can download the video here: ftp://www.gamepark.cz:8021/ofpd/videos/TopTV_ArmA.wmv

1. I locked up the rear tire recovering from a wee tad too much speed into a corner. Kept the front wheel properly inline with the skid and for a moment was almost sideways... that's when time stopped "Smack My Bitch Up" blasted from all directions as I slow motioned my way into the next lane, cutting off the BMW full of semi-attractive weekday party girls and as if it were planned, accelerated out of dirt and onto street thus creating a giant plume of dust for which weekday party girls promptly ate.
2. My bike is running a little rough and I am not positive, but I think I have lost a little power. I recently turned 10,000 miles in which plugs are supposed to be replaced. Also, the fans kicks in a bit more then what I have read it should. I'm getting close to an oil change. Comments?
3. I am now conditioned to where I can ride for long distances laying completely on the tank. However, cornering stability turns to turds while in that position. Should I be shifting my entire torso to keep the bike more upright?
4. What kind of NON-CHAINED wallet do you motorcycle shackers recommend. With all my stacks of hundreds I carry, I am paranoid I am working it out.

I have a 6600GT. Im assuming my drivers should be the same no?
Do I need to uninstall the drivers before I put in the 6800GT?
Basically, Im asking because I assumed all this, put it in, and it sees the video card, but it wont boot my computer. It just sits there are on the card bios screen.
Also, the card came with a little wire attachment... should I be using that?

Judge Dredd
Demolition Man
Independence Day (its good damnit)
Stargate
Fifth Element
True Lies, Bad Boys, and Die Hard 3 should also be raised as fine examples of this type of movie making, but they're a slightly different kind of film. James Bond also peaked in the mid-90s with Goldeneye, and Mission: Impossible was pretty damn bad-ass aswell. What say you, Shack?

Miyamoto and Iwata have hinted at a final secret for Wii that has yet to be revealed. And while we're sworn to secrecy, 1UP knows what this secret is -- and it's rather revolutionary. In fact, it's perhaps the most intriguing element of the system -- something with some rather cool implications for gaming. Let's just say that people have more to look forward to at E3.

I mean I like EGMs sarcastic side, and I don't know what the FUCK is going on with PC Gamer (wtf people.. why make your magazine even MORE incomprehensible?!)... But Game Informer is where it's at. Even though it's slightly oversized. And didn't it used to have Anime reviews?

I recently quit my cushy, well-paying IT job to start my own business. It's not doing more IT stuff though. Totally different. Now I'm a freelance videographer as well as independent filmmaker (whatever that is). Right before I quit I purchased a bunch of great equipment, including the incredible Panasonic DVX100B camera...
And before I knew it, I had business rolling in. Without ANY advertising at all - no business cards, no website, nothing - I had paying gigs. So far I've done two weddings, a short film, and a corporate video. I already have another wedding booked and I'll be shooting some stuff for a local TV program (shown on Fox 10, some home show) next month.
Granted, I'm working a part-time job at Starbucks in the mornings to help bring in some more money, I could easily quit that because I'm making more per month with my own work than Starbucks pays me. Right now I'm averaging about $500-$800/month with this business and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Having the freedom to do what I love doing was the best decision I ever made. Of course, I couldn't do it without my wife who's willing to play breadwinner for a while... :)
So yeah... That's what I've been up to lately. That and doing my own films, of course. But those don't pay anything. :)

I've run into a bit of an issue with my car in the past few weeks. It's a Protege5 with a manual transmission. About 10 times in past few weeks, when I start off in 1st gear and start to slowly release the clutch, the RPMs start jumping up and down, and the car starts hoping like crazy until I push the clutch in again and move to 2nd gear where it goes away. It only happens on occasion and in 1st gear. The car still has some decent power when I accelerate.
I've had the car for over a year and this has never happened to me before. I haven't changed my shifting style at all so I'm sure that I'm shifting properly. I did get into an accident a couple months ago and I wonder if it could have messed something up in the engine or transmission which is causing this.
