Gothic 1&2 took a long time to grow on me, but after I realized how the crappy controls work and when I got deeper in the world it was just awesome :D
Elder Scrolls is about a huge world where you can do everything...and Gothic is much smaller and but has more "character" and is more fun to play in the end.

AFAIK (which was awhile ago) they were going to use Starforce. Have they changed their minds? Sure hope so, good RPGs are few and far between nowadays, it would blow to have to pass it up.

The great thing about the Gothic series for me is the world itself. It's very immersive, and as you get stronger you can see things that were to dangerous to venture into before. It's great.

Thanks to Oblivion I'm really into an rpg mood. Gothic 3 looks good but I remember the crappy controls on gothic 2. Hopefully they will fix them for gothic 3

I was able to play the Gothic 1 demo. Talk about learning curve. I thought the controls in Gothic 2 were positively simple. I VERY MUCH liked the active combat control, which is quite different then just pushing 'auto-attack.'

Anyway. The scenery in these screens looks amazing as always, but what's up with that UI. I'm guessing (hoping) that's just a place holder....but what do you think the information is telling you. Maybe that's his inventory, and everything costs $100 right now.
