A great mod, this basically fixes an insanely poor technical job by Bestheda in their landscape texture. It makes the textures bigger and filters them a bit to make them look good. No known performance problems. Definitely WORTH USING.
Natural Faces Plugin for Oblivion Version 0.7

This sounded promising... higher res face textures? Unfortunately it's just a cheap photoshop paintover that makes all the faces look like baby faces. Not for me. DON'T NEED IT.
BTMOD v 2.2
This interface mod that allows customization probably has something that will help you. I don't play enough classes yet to know what everyone wants, but some basic things like being able to see a lot more of your inventory, weapons having a health meter, were useful. It's not obtrusive if you're worried about that, it actually makes the default interface less obtrusive by removing some useless flare. WORTH USING
Topless Mod

Watching all the women walk around topless with eerily stiff boobs wasn't as great as it sounds. Ok it was funny for a day or so, but obviously just a novelty mod at this point. DON'T NEED IT.
LOD Normal Map Replacement Mod
While the LOD texture revision worked out great, I may remove the normal map part. It makes the distant landscape shadows very smooth, so looking at a mountain or something, it looks unnatural. I DON'T NEED IT but you may want to check it out.

Ok, so i was trying to get into the thieves guild.
When i asked the guy about gray fox he said ''He's just a guy on the wanted poster, i dont tust you to say anything else''.So, i max out his disposition, and now im all ready to be told where gray fox is! When i asked him again he said the same thing! I spent 120$ bribing him for this? and im all like '' Screw you pal'' and i take out my dravewn Battleaxe and hack him to death, and this bitchy old woman saw me! then she screams ''You shouldnt be doing that! Guards!Guards''! and im all like, ''up yours u old crab'' and i take her out with my Arcane university staff...
But thats not it! a guard saw me do it! I resested arest- and i dove in the lake and swam at least a fifty mile-er. But then im being chased by a guard, a slaughterfish, and what next? as i get to shore, a battlemage bandit comes at me!
At that point i summoned an ancestor guardian to help me. But actully he missed the guy and hit me, and killed me.

IM also the grand champion of the arena, and **SPOINLER ALERT*Once you beat the gray prince, there is a second phase of the arena where you fight beasts! its really cool. You need the Staff from the arcane university to do really well.....

but just a warning for people doing the mage guild recommendations. This happened to me on the 360 version so I'm stuck without being able to enter the Arcane University.
This is about the Cheywindhal mage guild recommendation quest where you have to return the Ring of Burden. If you take too long, the body + ring disappears resulting in an incomplete quest.

So I get home, fire up oblivion, and load up my save. The game loads and finishes... then screen dims and just sits there...o..k...
I hit the guide button and the guide comes up but oblivion gets all corrupted. After a few seconds the game crashes. wow!
So I try the autosave... same thing.
!!
At this point I'm freaking out. I've been overwriting my saves and don't have any others to fall back on that don't cause me to lose many hours of gameplay.
So I try clearing the cache, which seems to work. I get in, I can look around... but I can't move. I can't bring up my weapon, though I can equip it. If I jump I don't move but I hear the jumping sound and my fatigue goes down.
Even though I'm next to the door, I can't activate it to leave. WTF! Luckily I was able to fast travel out to the gate despite being in the house and everything seemed okay. Oh, no sounds... there's music, but for like 10 seconds punches, jumping, etc made no sounds.
So now I'm really worried. I wonder if my HD is dying. Has anybody else experienced this? For those who haven't, heed my warning: round robin your damn saves! You never know when the failure of Bethesda's QA will ruin your day. :(

I just finally entered the first gate after 60 hrs of playing around with other quests. I just leveled in the gate but there is no bed to sleep and up my stats. Also I have so much loot I want to sell off. Is it bad to leave the gate go sell and sleep then re-enter to finish off that gate? Ugh I don't want to mess it up. Has anyone done this?

I'm riding along, exploring the world on my way to Cloud Ruler Temple, getting regularly attacked by bandits, bears, and minotaurs, when one particular bandit decides to make a beeline to my horse, even though I'm closer! He gets in several good whacks with a daedric mace before my horse and I finally put him down. Then I turn around and there's this fucker of an ogre beating on my horse!
He gets in a couple hits on my horse before I can fully interpose myself. Huh, my horse isn't moving to try to keep kicking him. Finish off the ogre and turn around, and it turns out the damn ogre killed my damn horse! Arrgh!
THIS is why I fast travel!

Favorite thing so far: Oblivion gate clearing. Boy you can feel the tension in the air. It's like... serious business time. Shit hits harder and everything will proxy aggro. Potion usage goes up.
Favorite cheese move so far: Conjuring an expert rank Faded Wraith and using the lowest rank fireball for destruction skillups! Then conjure another one, because the target assuredly isn't dead! Not qute a voidwalker, but damn close! hehehe
Next up: skilling up armorworking, more dungeons4cash to get custom spells and then enchants created.
Question: is there a map mod that marks caves "complete"? Or do they actually repop and scale when you level up?

I think i need a super hi-rez copy of the entire worldmesh so i can start marking shit all over it. It'd be great to see just north of anvil along the cost 'lotus seeds EVERYWHERE', then just farther east 'TONS of ginseng!' etc.

I'm thinking about getting this for Oblivion, was wondering if any of you guys had some insight on if that's a good monitor... if Widescreen is capable of the other monitors and if Widescreens are ready at this point in time.

when you say you finished one guild and starting another do you mean all in the same game or are you restarting and choosing stats appropriate for the guild? Or are you using a all purpose type character? I wouldn't mind doing all of them but atm I'm geared for fighter.

Leveling should NOT BE A PENALTY. i *think* there's a few level locked monsters that you have to level a bunch to kill nomally, but thats the only real reason to level. it's not the loot -- the loot is mostly just randomly generated enchants on weapons/armor about your level. in fact, all leveling seems to do is make the creatures in the world harder. why don't i just kick the difficulty slider up instead of leveling? it's pointless!
i understand what they were trying to do -- make the entire world accessible and not lock you into an "order" of quests that you have to do. you can do any quest in any order you want, and that's cool. but along with this effect, they pretty much made it pointless to advance and pointless to level.
they really need to rethink their system, and perhaps abolish it altogether. as it stands, there's no challenge to the game if you think about it at all.

Anyway.. inside the gate is 1 major tower called "Natural Disasters" which had 7 walkways to other towers called Eruption, Flood and other names. When I saw that they were named and had gates and stuff to open, I got nervous that I was actually finishing a gate that's part of the main storyline so I jumped out of the gate. Has anyone seen this before and is it part of the storyline?
Also; I managed to squish a Clannfear under an elevator. :D

Is there a faster way to level up then just running around killing stuff or whatever, and then sleeping? It's taken me like 6 hours to get to level 2, but a large chunk of that was me running away from guards.
Speaking of that, whenever I would walk into a city of any sort, I would be immediately thrown in jail - even if I hadn't stolen anything. Is there a way to tell what exactly the criteria is for being thrown in jail. And how long does it take for them to not be looking for you any longer?
Finally, how long does this cure for vampirism quest last? Being a vampire blows.

Just about to head in for the first time in a few days - and still mad I gave away the skeleton key to Martin without really realizing it, and didn't have any decent saves for many hours earlier. Fkn autosaves are nice, but can bite u in the ass too.
