Is the Pict_ures part going to fool any spam filter worth a damn? Not to mention the email itself includes a picture advertising an Adobe Photoshop course, and then ends in text about Lord of the Rings and Tolkien. Just makes no sense at all. And yet somehow these people make money. Also on FileShack

anyone here subscribe to the magazine EGDE? i picked up an issue from chapters (a canadian book store chain). it's totally sweet and reminds me of next-generation when it was still around, but it was like $16 tax included. that's way to fucking expensive to buy yearly. anywhere i can get it for cheaper?
and if anyone is subscribing, does it arrive in a plastic bag to protect it? i'd imagine it'll get pretty fucked up shipping from the uk with some sort of protection.
also, the magazine COMPUTER ARTS, again from the UK...damn they have great mags over there. anyone know where i can get for cheap? store chapters sells for $23 an issue!!!

It's not all bad news friends, she did leave behind her stationary. I always take the fallen's stationary. They get to live on though my routine list of household chores.
The paper is really nice. It must be part linen. There's something about the tactile touch of pen on paper I get reminiscent for. Something is lost between keyboard and screen.
The server guy just quit with no notice last week. He wasn't even here long enough to order any stationary. What will I make shopping lists on? My feet? The indignity.
I guess this isn't about whores at all. It's about stationary.

Let's assume you are building your own new home. Budget is a concern, although not to the extent it will keep you from doing things, just don't describe a crazy mansion.
What sorts of things would you put into your house, being the tech crazed group we are, during the initial build? I'm thinking those people who cut holes in their walls to install "flat" crt's are probably going "ah shit" now. Or those people who build entertainment units into the wall only to discover the custom shelving they did for a 36" isnt going to work with their new 50" dlp.
I'd imagine running speaker wire is probably a no brainer. Would you still run cat5 in this day and age, or just stick to wireless? What about other custom things that just can't be done easily after a house is built?

I've seen very little fanfare about this game so far... But then again, the original didn't seem to receive a whole lot of notice either. Hell, I didn't even try out the game until Maarten pointed out in the High Treason demo thread that there was base-building in the game (I had thought otherwise - a la Ground Control). Once I heard this, though, I was on Act of War like ... No analogy is coming. But I was on that shit.
I played through the original Act of War campaign over the last month and a half and just beat it over this past weekend. Now that High Treason is downloadable (weird delivery method; no boxed version for a while, apparently, but you can get it at http://www.direct2drive.com/ ), I gave it a shot and was surprised at the quality of the single-player campaign thus far. Eugen really upped the difficulty level of the missions and I'm finding them a lot more enjoyable, on average, than I did the missions from the original game.
And then I got to try naval combat.

Anyway, great game so far. Just thought I'd plug it in case any other C&C fans might have missed out on it like I did.
The long awaited update for Kameo is now available for download. After you dust off your Kameo disc and sign on to Xbox Live, you’ll get prompted for an auto update. Once you do that, swing over to the marketplace and grab the (free) download that will enable you to play Kameo with a friend across Xbox Live. I’ll be online later tonight if you want to send me a message to try it out.

Yeah, I know the Shack doesn't generally enjoy this kind of stuff, but I thought I'd go out on a limb and plug the first two chapters of my dystopian, post-nuclear, romantic, darkly comedic, psychological thriller of a novel. Basically... It's just as that sounds. A post-nuclear fallout shelter filled with about 12,000 people who, for all they know, may be the last surviving Americans left. It's tentatively titled Paradise.

We had our yearly review today, and I got a 5.1% raise. As usual, I was just glad to get something and didn't press the issue.
There is still almost a 15k difference salary-wise between me and the next guy in my group, which sucks. But I'm so outrageously overpaid that I have a hard time demanding more money.
I just wish my gift horse had a bling-bling grill :(
