First Post!

Another round of new 360 releases the past week with Far Cry Instincts Predator, Rumble Roses XX, Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires and Top Spin 2. I was sort of interested in Predator since I didn't play the original Far Cry Instincts on Xbox, but I really don't like what I'm reading about barely upgraded graphics and re-used Xbox 1 textures. For my 60 bucks I want a bit more than that. And Top Spin 2, coming out next week, isn't discounted like it is in the US, or I'd consider that game as well since the first one was pretty fun on Live. Disappointing. Also on FileShack

  • So one of the indoor ranges around here had there spring shoot again. The dealers come in and display their guns, you hand them your drivers license and you get to go out and try the guns on the range. You have to buy the ammo from the range though and you could only be out there for 15mins at a time.

Anyways, I got to try out 5 handguns yesterday.

    CZ O-01

I have heard some really good things about CZ Pistols as of late. The advantage of the of the CZ-75 was that you could carry it cocked and locked like the 1911. They didn't have a 75 fullsize in 9mm though and I wasn't certain if I wanted to try out the compact version so I decided to try out the the P-01 as I have heard some really good things about it. I take it out and fire of a couple of mags though it and what do you know. It handles really well nice and comfortable to hold. Recoil was what you would expect out a 9 but I was all over the place on the target as typical. It was a nice gun and I may try one again in the future but I would definately have to spend alot more time with it in the future.

Always wanted to try one of these as I have also heard they are a sweet pistol and a finely engineered weapon. Load it up and step to the line and noticed that my thmub wants to push the decocker down instead of the slide stop. Figured ok I am new to the weapon. Squeeze off my first round and hmm recoil was a bit snappy more then the P-01. I continue to do this for two mags and pull my target in. Most of my shots are all to the left in vertical strings. Also when I fired off the last round the slide would cycle to battery and wouldn't stay open. I tried to open it and I couldn't get it open. I noticed what I was doing after a bit as I was pushing on the decocker instead of the slide release. All in all it seemed like a decnet pistol but I couldn't get used to it like the P-01. When I have seen the pistol before I figured the decocker would get in the way and it did for me. I know some people love the pistols but this one wasn't for me.

This is one I figured I would have hated. I hate beretta triggers as they have such a long pull until take up but I am getting a bit more used to my dads 96. I picked it up and took it out to range and loaded up the mags. Also I noticed that it felt really good in the hand and balanced extremly well. I handled one in a store awhile ago and it had the large grip swell on it and just didn't feel rite. This one had the normal one on it. The controls felt very good in the hand and everything was within reach. I start to fire and this is where it gets interesting. All ot the round were starting to fall in the circles. I was finally doing better but not as good as I wanted to be. I figured it was a fluke and returned the gun back to the dealer. Also I did have one FTF with this but it may have been my fault. Recoil was VERY easy for such a light and small gun. Also there was a guy next to me with a laser/light combo and I borrowed it to see how it would work out. I was all over the place with my shots when I tried to aim with the pointer.

    SA 1911 Operator

This was my favorite gun a year ago. I went to the show and did extremely well with this and it was one of my favorite pistols. Its a 1911 so I don't really need to say much more other then it has a light rail. I wanted to give this a try again because my father just got a tactical stainless A1 and I was all over the place with it. I figured there may be a little difference with the MC operator with the front part of the grip it had. I take it out load up a couple of mags and suprise suprise I am all over the place just like the other one. Not certain if I want the MC 1911 anymore after yesterday. I will just use the old mans and try to improve on how I do.

    Sig 220

I figured I would give the sigs another try considering they have a 220 SAO with a cock and lock feature coming out http://www.sigarms.com/Products/ShowCatalogProductDetails.aspx?categoryid=6&productid=151 and it appears they have removed the decocker. Load up the mags fire off a couple of rounds, stil confuse the decocker with the slide release. The recoil on this was very simmiliar to the 1911. I really liked this one but would have to compare it to a Glock 21 or a 45 XD in the future but this was a good gun I did have the vertical stringing going on also so not certain why it happens with the sigs.

Decided to go back to this one again and see how it would do. Same result as before. Really liked the pistol the most out of all the ones I tried during the day.

If I were to rank them
    1)Px4
    2)P-01
    3)220
    4)1911 MC
    5)226

This just goes to show me more and more you should fire a weapon before buying it. The PX4 really suprised me.
