I'm looking for books that are sci-fish (Or if it's a REALLY good fantasy), and on the long side... I asked this awhile ago and didn't get clear answers... What does the shack think? If it's games based (Like the Dream Park novels) even better!

Tomorrow at 9PM EST, we will have our first weekly RO:OST Shackbattle.

i can't think of any more useful information to put in this post so i will simply fill up this space to make it look important with one incredibley long unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic...
so yeah, that's the post, i'll make another one tomorrow before the battle, and will announce the battles for the week starting on sunday (except for the next one, i'll be out of town so someone else will do it)

I need a few hardcore gamers in a couple of days to help me test out this gaming related web application i've been working on for like a year. I am just about done. If you would like to help me out, just reply in this thread, and i'll send you a shackmsg in a couple of days.

Hopefully tonight is a good one. The last couple of episodes have only been, "meh" to me. Sure they had some shocking deaths, but those were for the most part predictable. Oh, and RoboCop escaping with such ease was the biggest load of bullshit I've ever seen. The writers need to be punched in the face for that ingenius scene. It took Jack 2+ minutes to run up to the medical ward, but RoboCop was able to escape from the building in about 10 seconds? Riiiiiiiiiight...
Oh yeah, and here's hoping tonight starts getting back to the overarching conspiracy. I really hope they eventually explain why the FUCK Jack was framed for killing his friends to begin with. Why would the terrorists ever want to unleash the Bauer on themselves like that?
It's time!

So my friend has an apple. She also has a virus, unfortunately :-(
I'm heading over to her place in about 30 minutes to help her troubleshoot this problem. She bought some antivirus software which, unfortuantely, wasn't compatible with her operating system, so she went out and bought the upgrade to the OS.
Even worse? The operating system upgrade didn't work properly and I'm not sure if the system would boot.
I will be bringing my laptop over so I should have access to the shack and the web, so any links or advice regarding the following would be greatly appreciated:
- good, free, antivirus software
- useful troubleshooting websites for apple OS products (I think she might have upgraded to OS X)
- general troubleshooting suggestions while working on a mac.
Thanks for all of your help again... I'll owe you one, hopefully I've paid it forward :-)

I am writing on behalf of my client Entity. You guys are a bunch of horse vaginas. Do you people not playtest your product? The product in question right now is your game "Tetris DS" for your Nintendo DS handheld computer system. Specifically, my client notes that once you hit around "level 16" in your "marathon" mode, you can no longer properly control the bricks or "tetrominos" as they fall. Your S, 5 and square pieces are unable to be moved to the side due to their hitting the bottom of the playing field so quickly. My client believes that if one were to hold left or right before the piece came into play, it should fall from the furthest-most left or right side respectively, therefore being properly playable pieces.
My client wishes me to inform you that he may be the greatest Tetris DS on the planet. But this cannot be proven to a horrible mistake and a libellous false claim of "endless" mode in your marathon mode. You see, once you reach 999 lines, the counter no longer counts! Now I know you shit-eating porn afficiandos will be able to beat this charge my proving that the gameplay itself is indeed endless, but what is the point of playing if your lines are no longer counted? When my client's game ended at level 106, he was unsure if he had 1061 or 1069 lines, or some variable in between.
These issues should be addressed post-haste via a downloadable patch (which my client believes to be quite unlikely) or a re-issue of the game, which I'm sure my client would pay for because he's addicted to Tetris in all it's forms.

I was in EB Games last week, picking up Oblivion, and I overhear someguys talking at the counter about gold farming and WOW. They were like "my one friends makes like $70,000 a year, he plays on four screens at once, he levels all his characters and sells them on ebay, unghuh!". I suddenlly got a real weird feeling and I felt like I had to get out of there.
And then not to mention EB employees. I was with my girlfriend that day, and she asks the guy about Kingdom Hearts 2, he's like "Unghuh, You better pre-order it, we have 238 preorders you won't be able to get it"...so I say to her "don't worry, we'll just get it at walmart or something"...and he starts to smirk and laugh at me, as if i said, "don't worry, we'll get it at the gas station"... Then he says, "thats if they even get it any time soon"

Some interesting NGM back issues to check out on the Chernobyl issue are one in 1994 (july IIRC; somewhere in the summer) and May 1987. And here's a link to the online version of the article, with a nice picture of the dark and rusted-out control consoles for Number 4 Reactor: http://www7.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/0604/feature1/index.html

This program says there are 2 360's in stock at local bestbuys, however I called and they promptly told me "no they have none".
Should I go check anyway on the chance these people were just lazy and used to telling people no and didnt realize they got more?

I thought I might ask here as I know a lot of people are waaaay ahead of me in this game. Where would you guys go to get some healing gear for a druid if you were level 55 - 60? Also an advice to others: don't take leatherworking as a profession.

I'm back from France, hooray! Did you miss me? Actually I got back late on Saturday night but have been lurking. I was going to do a big writeup on my experiences but I'm pretty lazy so that might not happen for a while, or at all.
Looks like Oblivion has slayed the GRAW hype. I'm going to hold out on buying that though, I need to finish GRAW and COD2.
