Raph Koster Leaves SOE

GameSpot is reporting that Sony Online Entertainment COO Raph Koster is no longer with the company. According to Sony Online, the MMORPG veteran is leaving to pursue development interests that "don't match SOE's strategic goals".

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Kostner was the brains behind pretty much all the "good" or unique stuff in SWG that SOE bit by bit stripped away(even before the 'official' launch of the game. Like Kostner's system to allow musicians to make their own songs in game). While most agree that when it comes to combat systems Kostner isn't at his best, he is quite the expert in the social aspects of MMORPGs
