First, we need to enable Coolbits in the nVidia drivers control panel, I used NVTray to do this.
Choose to launch NVTray after the installation is finished. A new icon should pop up in your system tray.
Right-click on it, go to "Hardware" and choose "Set Coolbits 3" from the menu.
Now, go into the nVidia Control Panel. You should see a new option named "Additional Direct3D Settings" in the box to the left. (below "Performance & Quality Settings")Mark it.
You should now be seeing an option in the box to the right, named "Max frames to render ahead". Set it to 0 and apply the settings.
Try running Oblivion again and see if it helped.

I dont mind camera turning towards them, and camera zooming, its just the zoom is way too close.

I'm having second thoughts about my lvl 3 archer, I can barely kill the damn slaughter fish in the quest for the fisherman right outside the imperial city
(It takes ~20 arrows to kill a damn fish) this does not portend well to actually fighting bad guys, how are the high-level marksmen of the shack fairing deeper in the game?

I just explored the dungeon right outside the sewer exit, and it was huge! Took me like 90 minutes to clear it. At the end I found a Robe of Persuasion worth 2,500! +8 Speechcraft, +8 Mercantile, +8 Personality while worn.
I also love doing 3x damage on sneak bow shots.

Go outside the Imperial City's main gate, and keep on going until you find two houses called weyes on the map. The main guy in the house will ask you to go in the lake and kill some fish for some scales. Be sure to make it your active quest, because I didnt, and I was swimming around the damn lake looking for the damn things. When you make it the active quest, the game will put up a green arrow that goes place to place where the fish are. Take the scales back, and the dude will give you a ring that lets you breathe underwater without ever having to come up. Its very useful so far in some of the dungeons, and its worth a pretty big chunk of change.
Also, I was listening to some NPC talking about making some potion, and he kept on refering to deer penis.

So I'm bringing a dude back to town from a dungeon a good distance from town, and I'm walking back to town (I generally don't use fast travel, and I wanted to see how he'd handle himself)
Along the way I get distracted by pretty flowers (mmm, alchemy), so I deviate somewhat from a beeline back to town. While doing so, I stumble across the entrance to a bandit hideout. Predictably, there's a bandit lookout outside - he spots us and runs to engage, swinging his giant Dwemer two handed mace.
Now I'm a fairly potent mage, and as it turns out, so is my buddy. I summon up a Skeleton, he summons up a Daedra, all four of us start whacking on this rather beefy bandit. The bandit decides to beat on the other Mage, who turns out to be rather weak. Crap. Incoming irritated reload.
Except that's not what happens. The Mage gets low on health - does he stand there and die like every other retarded escort npc known to man? Nope. He puts away his weapon and books ass away. The bandit sets off in hot pursuit, and I chase after them both, frantically trying to chip away at the bandit's seemingly inexhaustable supply of health.
Does the Mage randomly run off into the wilderness while the bandit is beating on him? Nope. He heads straight for the entrance to the nearby cave, and runs inside. The bandit chases him in as well. Oh nohs. So I run in as well. I load up quickly, and inside, I find my Mage buddy casting healing spells on himself <3
Sadly this isn't quite enough, and in the close confines, the Mage goes down, followed a moment later by the distressingly sturdy bandit. Crap! Except wait... my Mage escort buddy isn't dead. He's just unconscious. A few moments later, he stands up, heals himself to full, and resumes following me <3
We make it back to town without further incident :D

I just did that whole "right outside of Kvatch" thing.
Now, we're all supposed to rush into the city to free the townsfolk. But when we do so, I and the force acompanying me get soundly spanked by the denizens RIGHT INSIDE. I just hit Lv3, archer/archer/archer with a side of archer (and a bit of blade), and I can't take down one little dinosaur dude before all 3 guys with me get killed or KO'd >:(

I was playing in third person and after awhile every time I started to strafe around or pan the camera, I would feel the barf coming on. Actually just thinking about it makes me want to hurl.
Ever take too many spins around the wheel go round in school, when you were a kid? Yeah that's how I feel. It's slowly going away as I just quit playing. If I were to continue I am almost sure I would vomit and feel even worse.
Like I said, never had this happen. I'm not really sure what's doing it either. I think the combination "realistic" movement (barf... head/body bobbing) combined with my 2000dpi mouselook is doing a number on my spatial system here.
Blech.
On a side note, does every dungeon look the same? This could be half my problem, these dungeons... so small and confusing to walk around in. Going back and forth into some spots makes me want to hurl more too. They all look the same too.

Not to mention, with such a ridiculous abundance of material properties now, I'm rolling in massive Magicka Restore potions that return so much Magicka over time, I can toss the classic Fireball with reckless abandon + flagrant disregard.
On a side note, I'd like to thank the many, many, many enslaved denizens of Oblivion who have given their lives so that my poor weedy Mage (he of the frail constitution and ~110 Health at 16th level) may pwninate at a safe distance from the crushing blows of Minotaurs, Spriggan, Goblins &c &c

In Morrowind, levelups were 1-10 points, you gained points from primary and secondary skills you chose during the creation of your character. Skills not chosen don't give you anything.
In Oblivion, the only thing I know is that you select seven skills. Fill me in on the rest please, levelup system and what it gains points from.

i've looked in the instruction booklet, so sorry if this has been covered.
i'm using chainmail (light armor) now, but i've seen fur and leather, both light as well, offering the same AR bonus as the chainmail, but some pieces weigh less. will fur leggings give the same protection as a chainmail leggings, if they're both considered light armor, and have the same AR rating, even though the chainmail is heavier?

Oblivion: While while walking around in the Imperial city, I decided to see how stealing stuff works. As per Morrowind, I checked and double checked that noone saw me, I snagged a cup and then left the house. A few minutes later a guard ran up to me and accused me of stealing. I paid my fine and left.
Do the guards have a sixth sense? How does the alarm system work? I want to be able to steal my way through the game, but it seems kinda impossible. Oh.. and does the alert / alarm system function the same way with killing NPC's? Does it have to be night for stealing stuff? I want to know!

Then I did some of the main quest and became a Blade. It's like a home at their HQ so I'm tidying it up and putting shit away.
Questions:
Does stuff I drop ever disappear? I'm collecting the different armor types and dumping them by my bed.
Items claim to be worth X amount but when I go to a shopkeeper they won't pay that much, what can I do here?

Why does it tell me my horse is stabled in imperial city every time but I can't find it? Where is the damn thing at? I'm sick of running from the law all the time as a horse thief=(

1. No more layering of clothes/armor to further customize and power up your character.
2. Less skills. They combined various skills together. Less skills = less questions from the console crowd, easier learning curve, etc...
3. Various screens have larger icons, and cannot be resized. Lots more tabbing through to get what you want. But, it will display better on a TV.
4. Combat is now 'kinetic' -- if it looks like you hit it, you do. There is no chance involved. No more 'rolling of the dice' as in a traditional RPG. This also caters to the fighting game console crowd, and takes Oblivion away from its RPG roots.
Is there anything else?

no idea how he died, but i stripped him of his armor long ago. his naked body is just lying in the gutter by the big tree. wtf, don't they bury people?
i tried to drag him out of sight myself but it wasn't doing much. i was thinking of buying a house there, but with a corpse right in front of my door, jeez no thanks.
