Note that if you have an AGP 68xx (NV40) chip you will never get either standard or hi-def H.264 or WMV-9 hardware decoding- it's broken in the chip itself (their spec's weren't final before the silicon went to fab).
Even on a PCI-E 6800GT or Ultra, you will not get H.264 or WMV-9 hardware decoding- they are also NV40 chips.
If you've got an AGP 66xx card (NV43), you're all set; same for PCI-E versions.
And all 76/78/79xx cards are fine, as are all Geforce Go (mobile) chips from the 66xx upward.
You do need to get the Purevideo decoder for MPEG-2 decoding, or an 'nvidia-friendly' decoder from Cyberlink (PowerDVD) or Intervideo (WinDVD), that supports DXVA (DirectX Video Acceleration).
