Battlefield 2: Euro Force Released

As expected, the Euro Force booster pack for Battlefield 2 has finally been released through EA's Downloader program. For $9.99 you get three new maps, four new vehicles, seven new weapons, a new European Union army and a European Union Special Service Medal award.

The battle expands in the first booster pack to 2005's hit game Battlefield 2. Take the powerful new Euro Force into action against MEC and Chinese armies as you battle for control of all-new Asian locations. The action escalates to a fever pitch with the latest high-tech vehicles and weapons including attack helicopters, battle tanks, assault rifles, and much more.

I REALLY like BF2, even with all its problems, its still an awesome, awesome game. Inspite of this, i still feel a bit bitter that only NOW is it in "shipping" condition. I even bought Special Forces, though in hindsight i probably shouldnt have. If they would have released this for free as just a good-will gesture (and then even charge for subsequent ones), then that would change things -- Im not really interested in this, but it would be a matter of principle.

I'm sorry but if you actually pay money for this you are a sucker. It takes EA 6 months to come up with worthwhile patches for this game, yet people keep shelling out money like robots. No thanks.

The argument is that something like this would never be made unless it's to be "funded" because the player base interested in it isn't large enough to support the devs working on it.

In some ways part of me thinks its a valid excuse as long as they still continue to offer wider based free patches with some content.

I'm not quite happy about this sort of thing happening but then if you get content that wouldn't otherwise be made for a small pecent that are interested in it then maybe that's ok

Meh this is so weak. For $9.99 not 10 dollars but $9.99 you too can have seven *new* weapons, which arenÃ¢Â€Â™t really any thing new, just slight tweaks to the accuracy versus damage of similar weapons. OH but wait thereÃ¢Â€Â™s more! You can get 4 new vehicles which arenÃ¢Â€Â™t really new either; theyÃ¢Â€Â™re just different models for similar vehicles in the game.
IÃ¢Â€Â™m sorry what does this really add? The maps are a prob a nice addition, but what is the point if no server ever runs them? I have a hard enough time finding a server with a good ping, let alone one that is running the expansion maps as well. AND finding that with a good server population...

EA using the term "Booster pack" just doesn't sit right with me. It's NOT a booster pack, it's just a small-to-medium sized add-on at best.

Gee, I'm one of the few people who liked BF2 (kind of) but I don't even own Special Forces yet. This seems like another rip-off. EA hopes that the true die-hards play these maps so that all their more leisurely friends have to buy them to play with them, it would seem.

Out of the new weapons anyone have any suggestions? (hoping one of ya'll was in the beta).

I picked up the P90 which was pretty decent though I wish the accuracy was a tad better. I've tried the new sniper rifle by picking one up off a dead opponent. The accuracy seems spot on but its not quite as powerful as the M95.
