Last year we got quite a pack of snow in March, and now that we've reached March in 2006 it seems that we might have a late winter again. Last night it was snowing a bit, and now it's hailing. I was hoping for a slight increase in temperature instead. Also on FileShack

    Shack Tactical Gaming Group - Covering Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, Armed Assault, and Operation Flashpoint

    If you would like to participate in Shackbattles for any of the listed games, please take a moment to read through this post and provide the requested information.

    As many of you already know, I've been running a "tactical" gaming group for OFP (with Armed Assault and RO:OST also supported but as yet unreleased) for the past few months.

    We have a forum (which I'll refrain from posting here - if you want the address, it's not hard to find), and are in the process of organizing future OFP sessions that'll be above and beyond anything we've done previously in regards to coordination, intensity, and outright badassedness.     We're also gearing up for some Red Orchestra: Ostfront gaming in the near future, as the game has been available for pre-order and pre-loading via Steam for a little while now and is expected to be released "Real Soon".

    If you're interested in joining us, it's not at all hard to do. Provide the following info and I can have you added to the list in no time at all.

    What I need from you:
    1. What games you're interested in - OFP, ArmA, RO, or any combination thereof
    2. An e-mail address that you check with some degree of frequency to which I can send Shackbattle announcements and such
    3. (optional, but try to provide this if you can) An AIM/MSN/ICQ/Gtalk screenname/UIN at which I can contact you

    There are currently 54 people in ShackTac. I would encourage anyone who is interested in playing a whole new level of wargame to join us for our OFP and ArmA sessions, you really can't experience anything else like it anywhere else. It's a blast.

    The next ShackTac OFP session will be in the middle of this month, so if you join soon you'll be able to get in on it. OFP's Game of the Year edition can be had for under $20 these days, and it's easily the best wargaming value you can get for your money.

    After our next session's over, I'm going to more than likely spend some time to write up a good, comprehensive AAR on what this new style of play is like for anyone who's interested to read. fyi.
