  • I have to admit I enjoyed this quite a bit, despite some fairly dated visuals. I like sniping anyway, and the Max Payne bullet chase cam when you pull a nice shot made me tingly in my gamer-spot. I may pick this up.

    I just wish the visuals were a touch better. All the debris on the groud is just lumpy geometry with debris texture on it, the human models are adequate, but especially the main character, being involved in cut scenes as much as he is, could stand to look a bit better.

    On the other hand, I was running it at 1600x900 (why no 16:10 AKA Dell 2405fp support?) with everything cranked and it was like buttah, so I guess it's a fair tradeoff.

  • Good demo, about 3 hours worth of gameplay (more if you replay the levels, and I think I might).

    Sniping people is pretty satisfying, you get a nice bullet time effect for good shots, and there's a great big entry wound where the bullet hits. You have to account for bullet drop, stance, heart rate, and even windage (these are all customizable too, through the difficulty settings). You can press F to "empty lungs" (breath out to help you keep the gun steady).

    The graphics are solid, they look like something that could have come out 2-3 years ago, but they get the job done and the game runs great with everything cranked up (which is what you should expect for any console port). There are some nice touches, like the trash blowing in the wind, reflections on the sidewalk from the rain, and a subtle bloom effect.

    The levels seem pretty open (especially the first one), giving you a lot of routes to your goal (it reminds me of Hitman in this respect). The game also seems to discourage quick-save whoring, but doesn't prevent it (at least on the lower difficulty, it just threatens to subtract from your score). It's definitely a good idea to limit saving (makes a lot of sense for a game like this), but at least its not forced on people that hate that type of thing.

    TLDR

    Demo = Recommended
