Half-Life: The Aftermath Menace

GameSpot has just posted a brief news item revealing that Valve has changed the name of its upcoming downloadable Half-Life 2 expansion from Half-Life 2: Aftermath to Half-Life 2: Episode One. Marketing director Doug Lombardi confirmed that this is due to a shift towards regular Half-Life episodic content from Valve. The move is not unexpected, given Valve's vocal support for the episodic download model of content delivery through the company's Steam service. Hey Valve, I've already played HL2: Episode 1. Talk about a dumb naming convention, I'm waiting for the continuation of the "to be continued..." ending of HL2.

I prefer 20 hour games every 2 years :/ Just like to have everything at once, and like the sense of a continuous journy, even if it takes me a few weeks to complete.

I'm still not sure if I like the 4 hours of gameplay every 6 months thing. I'd almost rather wait a few years (not the entire HL2 dev cycle, granted) and get all 20+ hours at once...

So call it Half-Life: Aftermath: Ep. 1. Or is that too many colons? If a game can be called Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines, there's no problem with that.

I'm probably going to wait until there's a HL2 bundle edition with CS:Source, Dod:Source and HL2: Episode 1 - X on the storeshelfs and get that instead. It's bound to come out sooner or later... can't take that much longer than the wait for HL2 itself.
