I really liked at the end where they started showing some interactivity, for some reason, I don't think we're currently comprehending how much interactive-ness is in this game, it's been said before on these forums by some devs/insiders, but I'm really looking forward to experiencing it.
The only thing that was "meh" about the trailer were the fire effects, which were very HL2-y and kinda lame-looking, but I think Source is to blame for that. The lcoation-based damage and BULLET RICOCHETING looks so awesome, and the texures and models, especially the faces, look absolutely stunning. As for the editing of the actual video itself, very well done, and the music is pretty sweet, too.
I want this game now!!!!

I'm also pleased to see a major game taking hold of the episodic deployment, but I'm somewhat partial to this, having been involved with a (failed) indie attempt at something similar.
I'll be preloading on Steam the first chance I get.
What does this game offer what we havent seen before ?
All i can see is a HL2 mod game its not unqite in any way, the graphics is nothing to brag about really and the gameplay does not seem to offer that much.

There are legitimate complaints to lodge, however. If there was something that really irked me it would be the industrial areas. Perhaps I’m being misled by the trailer, but it seems that the bigger part of this game goes on in a pier, or harbour type setting. That is not desirable, but it is not undesirable either, Sin certainly isn’t alone in the industrial complex type environments. Both Half Life 2 and FEAR were choc full of them, so really, you can’t blame a leper for suffering from an epidemic. If I could find fun in those games I am sure I can find it in Rituals product.
Speaking of the visuals, I don’t actually have that much of a problem with the art style. Its actually quite a divergence from the norm these days, which is to create gloomy and dark games. Instead of that, Sin is intense, actually has a sky that is a bright vibrant blue, and features some character design that definitely makes a point of going over the top. That guy with the goatee definitely looks cool.
Without a doubt, there are a number of things here that are fucking cool. That car ride thing? That is definitely sweet. A totally cinematic, cool feature to break up the gameplay a bit into something different, no doubt it will be a lot of fun. Bouncing shots around corners? I see that as being nothing but good. Oh, and those jetpack guys make a very satisfying, chunky sound when they fall.
To summarize I’ll say this: someone mentioned that this looks like the DNF 2001 trailer. As if that’s a bad thing. How could it possibly be? The 2001 DNF trailer was fucking sweet, probably the best looking thing in that whole show, and I would love to play something like that.

I always get a big kick out of playtesting games and this one was very unique for me.
"Play through the entire first peice that will be released and see how long it takes you. Play as you would normally play going guns blazing if that's your style, or search every nook and cranny if you prefer that."
I mixed it up using a combo of exploring for secret areas and trying to get all headshots. I tested the AI system a bit by using weaker weapons and aiming for the skulls and saw plenty of very interesting and even funny things. The jetpack guys exploding when shot, sometimes spinning out of control, some of the more interactive things will make you laugh.. It's got alot of "bang for the buck" that's for damned sure.
Concerning how long it took me to play through it, I will say I was last to finish, felt like I explored the game more in the first hours of play then when I found out I was "almost halfway there.." I kinda kicked the asskicking into gear. I was very surprised at the amount of game I had played and things I had farted around with in that time and to find out I wasn't even halfway done.. Crazy I tell ya. Crazy.

1. It has the same old school vibe that SiN had.
2. Over the top action thats not being serious but is. Hard to explain.
3. Source, I have no idea why people are saying this game isn't good looking. It looks great and makes huge improvements on the engine.
4. Interactivity, Interactivity, Interactivity! Its been so long since a game allowed us to play with the item and not just throw it around. I heard from interviews that dialing a number will result in someone picking up!
5. That music is awesome.
6. Elexis' boobs.
Also, it seemed that time slowed down at 1:06, and theres a weird fuzzyness around the HUD at 1:12. Maybe these are some added features we haven't heard about? Blade did get all fucked from mutation in the first SiN. Maybe this is that "procedure" in effect that was hinted at in the CES demo.
Looking great guys, I am glad you are creating the game you wanted to make, without outside pressure. Keep it up.

I'm such a huge fan of the Source technology -but this trailer made me littlerally say "meh" out loud. I really want to like this game and be excited for it....but it seems kinda bland. I mean....I dunno....when I think of Prey I get excited, but this? :(
I loved the original too.......we'll see. Maybe it was bad editing :P

Throwing objects around the environment can only be so entertaining until it becomes mundane. I want to push some button and cause something crazy to happen in the game or something and at least by the trailer it looks like I may get some of that with this game and thats refreshing to me. The graphics may have taken a slight hit but it looks like they are trying to push the gameplay to make up for it.
Oh well, maybe next time the developers should turn on the water effects full blast and then maybe the HL2 fans will think its the most fun looking game ever..

I actually enjoyed the first game, a lot -- 4 years after release, mind you.
This looks pretty cool, and more importantly looks like alot of fun.
I would pay $50 for it, but the fact we are getting it for 15-20 bucks just makes it better
:)
