TimeShift Demo FAQ
by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 31, 2006 3:26pm PSTAtari producer Kyle Peschel has posted a sort of TimeShift demo bug FAQ, tackling the Installshield 6001 error, graphics, stuttering gameplay and other performance problems, binding keys, and mouse movement issues that plague the game. Atari also let us know that Saber Inactive is working on fixing all demo issues for the retail release, and "will provide more information to the community regarding the demo soon".

I was actually looking forward to this games, as I'm not nearly as jaded as most a vocal minority of Shackers it seems. The screens to me looked 'good enough' and not 'OMG what is this the Q2 engine' or 'OMG the weapons have too many polygons'
But promising they're going to fix these issues for retail isn't good enough, they need to do an updated demo, or a patch for the existing one. I'm not buying this without being able to try it.

No, they REQUIRE you to use WASD.
Regarding poor graphics:
"Your system isn't very good, so the game is scaling down to your system's settings."
Are you kidding me? What is with the bad attitude of EVERYONE working on Timeshift, it seems? Here's my setup: Athlon 64 3700+, 2 gigs RAM, X800 XTPE, and it defaulted everything to the LOWEST settings, and when I jacked everything up to max, the demo ran like absolute shit when I can run much, much more graphically intensive games at a solid 60-80 fps.
It really bothers me that people are putting up with this crap.
