Just repetition of old news and information that was already known.

Judging by what the reviewers were allowed to see and do, though, it seems like the game is still a long time away.

But the best part of this outdoor renderer is that the view distance can go out very far, beyond what most online FPS games can handle. The game can also switch between day and evening environments currently (with a nighttime setting currently in testing) on any map, and the lighting actually will diffuse even indoors correctly. That orange tint during the sunset will make it into various buildings, and the longer shadows during this time of day can afford better cover. And speaking of shadows: not only do the players and vehicles cast shadows on the ground, but they cast shadows on themselves and each other as well. While stealth will be an important part of Quake Wars, it's not handled arbitrarily by "making" a player invisible. There is some low-lying foliage placed around the maps for the sneakier players to hide in, but they'll need to find it and use it without the game actively cloaking them.

Shadows are only useful when everyone has them enabled, if they give the user options on the lighting and shadows it'll be like BF2 where if you run at lowest setting you can clearly see people in otherwise dark areas.

Oh, and the Gamespy one has a new exclusive screenshot, but it's not very exciting.

I am so buying a new computer for this game.
