Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Collectors Edition Info
by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 25, 2006 4:32am PSTThe official Bethesda website has been updated with a new newsletter, offering information on the upcoming release of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game will have a regular edition and a collectors edition, for both PC and Xbox 360. The regular edition will include the game on DVD (yes, PC too), a 48 page manual and a map of the game world. The Collector's Edition will include special packaging, a bonus DVD with a professional Making Of documentary, replica coin of the currency used in the game, and a 112 page pocket guide. The CE will be available in North America, the UK, Western Europe, and Australia. Both releases will be localized for France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
The Collector's Edition comes with an outer slip pack that is specific to your platform. It's a variation on the regular edition with more of a leather book cover look to it. Plus it says "Collector's Edition" right there on the front, which is handy. The inside is a four-panel digi-pack that is actually non-platform specific (think "Lord of the Rings" movie collector's editions, we did). The right panel holds your manual, map, reg card, and inserts. The one next to that holds the disc for whichever version you purchased. The disc tray on the left side hold your bonus DVD, and the pocket on the far left holds your Pocket Guide and coin.

I didn't go to school for 3 weeks in High School because of Morrowind. I am more afraid than anything...for this game.

I don't have a 360 yet either but i'll be damned if this pos computer can run it.
It just didn't do anything for me.
IMO, and RPG is supposed to be a story.
So I found Morrowind not linear enough for me.
It felt more like a MMORPG with no one less in it.
I'll be picking this game up for the great graphics and hopefully
a great atmosphere.
Hopefully I like it better than Morrowind.

This is the game my girlfriend's been waiting years for. She doesn't like the idea of pre-ordering, but I think I'll go and put some money down on her behalf to make sure she gets the CE version.

Not only was the Halo 2 video entertaining, but it clocked at over an hour, and showed many aspects of working at Bungie (both the fun and the stressful.) It also gave an entertaining look into the fanbase behind the game.
If the Oblivion video is even close to what Bungie had, I'll be one very happy gamer.
