Guild Wars: Factions Preview

I bought GuildWars back in October and played consistently for 2-3 months till I became disenchanted due to the tedium of finding a group to PvP with. For those who have played this game, I'm talking about an 8 member group, not the Team or Random 4 member groups. All the serious players battle in the 8 member groups, not the others.

Unless you're with an alliance, you'll find putting together a pick-up-group on the average taking 30+ minutes. Too long when you take into account that you may lose against the first opponent, or a member of your group may drop from the game forcing you to find another random person (which equals more lost time).

I played the latest version, GuildWars Factions, and became bored. I found that the updates to PvP and 2 new characters classes do not outweigh the timeconsuming nature of putting together a 8 member group.

I hereby rate this game 'B' for B'oring. In fact I sold my version of GuildWars on eBay. Sold in 2 hours for $29.99 to a Buy It Now customer.

Congrats to SNA and others for spamming Spirit of Pain, word of this build has spread :)

I've been playing this for the last 2 days. Has some problems of skills not being enabled such as poison arrow and a lot of fire spells. The elementals (mages) are probably the worst class. The fighters are pretty good. I would say: be a healer or one of the spirit healers because every party needs a healer, no one wants to be one, and it means you'll win 4+ battles in a row, constantly. I'm a big Unreal Tournament 2004 player, but I am going to really look forward to this game! A lot of UT2k4 players I know bought this game when it came out and got bored of it but on this demo you can't play anything but PvP so I can't tell. Also, it will be interesting to see how powerful players fight each other later because right now, 90% of players are just using a default skillset (and they always put in 2-3 useless skills when there could be useful ones).

I had some good fun with this last night, the new assassin character i found that they were good for fighting off monks with the combo system that they put in. Not tried the Ritualist yet, but im guessing that they are going to be very much like monks
