  • I just got my first real dose of adware that doesnt follow the oldschool rules. The spyware was called SurfSideKick 3. BAck in the day NOTHING should be loading in safemode. Today most spyware is ignoring that rule and loading itself or integrating itself into the shell or some core files or a section of windows that still loads even in safemode.

    I remember the first time I came across .js files that were spyware components or flat out malicious scripts. I am never amazed at the new ways people think of to hide annoying/destructive applications or applets.

    I am sure most of you know about this but I didnt and wanted to share.
