OK, here's my rant... First off I'm pretty sure there was no "fruits de mer" boutique in Normandy, that just doesn't really make sense. "Coquillage", yes, perhaps, but seafood?.. nah, they're sold at fish merchant.
Second, wtf, what kind of butcher also sells seafood?... That doesn't make sense either...!...
I REALLY hope Valve fixes this cause it's really going to ruin the experience!...

Watching people (with no idea who they are) post in these for weeks after the news item was always hilarious. Someone in here reminds me of that...

I love the way they have handled CS:S and DoD:S. Give us a taste of each as soon as possible and then keep making maps while we're playing. It also works well for newbies because they aren't overwhelmed with 20 maps to learn all at once.
What SIN is doing is very similar. Give us the first playable chapter of the game and while we're playing it work on the next. And if the first chapter turns out to not be popular then hey, it's up to them if they want to spend more money developing the remaining chapters of something that isn't well received. In the past if a game got 1/4 done and the publisher didn't like it then they would can it and we the gamers would never even get to play the game. Now the gamer gets to decide if the game is worth developing more of.

Please stop splashing whine all over the comments. I'm not sure if we'll be able to get it out. Thanks!

The standard set of maps stayed roughly the same over the entire life of the game. They came out with an initial version and that was it.
Now there's this push to Source-ify all the old school maps, and while they might look great, the frame rates go to shit. See de_chateau for a great example. Want to lag everybody on the server? Throw an HE grenade into that room with the boarded up crack.
I applaud their regular map updates and ultimately the problem is that I need to upgrade (2.4GHz/GF6), but in the end their periodic updates end up costing me frames.
