It drives me batty how when you're using Photoshop and you do something simple like draw a narrow line using a brush tool and CPU usage goes through the roof. I mean seriously, how much processing power can changing the color of 20 pixels a second really take? Photoshop isn't exactly in it's first iteration either. It seems like it'd run more efficiently.
Anyway, does it do this on Macs too? Since the OSX desktop actually utilizes the GPU, does the CPU still go crazy when doing simple operations in Pshop?
I've heard that Vista has a similar setup, with a 3D accellerated desktop. I'm hoping this is the case so that things like Pshop or moderately complex flash animations don't rape my CPU.

A pair of 500MHz Altivec units are eating the 5200Go in the Powerbook alive, seriously, what the fuck.
* looks for ways to force coreimage to fallback to the G4 in the Powerbook *

I want to try out a new class/race, Alliance or Horde makes no difference to me. So far I have played both a rogue and a hunter to the mid to high 30s and just need to take a break from them.
I play mostly solo due to lack of huge time commitment and lack of people around to hang out with on my server. My request to you almighty WoW players is a suggestion on what would be a good race/class to try out that I can still be strong at solo

Some buyers have had to send their 360s back for glitches. However, those with faulty systems represent only about 1% of customers, says Richard Doherty of consulting firm The Envisioneering Group, comparable to "what has happened before with the iPod and TiVo."

Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo is continuing his celibacy past his self-declared deadline. The 35-year-old frontman earlier vowed to remain celibate for two years. Although that deadline expired six months ago, Cuomo still doesn't expect to jump back in the sack anytime soon.

I picked up the game last night - started fishing and collecting shells for profit, and paid off my mortgage, and had the house expanded. Today I see that the new mortgage is 120,000 shells, and the general store will be closed tomorrow... Does anybody have any tips on how to get rich quick in the game - is beachcombing the best/only way until I can find a shovel? So Far the store has only given me a fishing pole and a watering can - there was a butterfly net last night but i didn't buy it - how long does one have to wait for good stuff to show up generally?
Also - what is medicine for?
