Quite a lot of giveaway entries already, I guess you guys like free stuff. If you managed to screw up and enter blank address info, shoot me a ShackMessage and I'll take care of that. Obviously I won't fix it if you discovered you got your trivia answers wrong :) And for those who didn't venture into the comments, here's a pic of the F.E.A.R. jacket. Also on FileShack

  • RoboBlitz demo - the first Unreal Engine 3.0 game, but seeing how its an Intel funded project you'll need a HT-capable CPU.
  • Falcon 4.0 patch - bug fixes and art updates for this flight sim.

  • Well, I had my interview for the Systems department opening. You'd think as you get older, these things would get easier, but they don't. I guess the one benefit is that while I would really like the job, I don't want it bad enough to give a fuck about they think about me. This allows me to be honest. If they like me, I get the job, if they didn't, well, I already have a job that pays just as well. But I still get nervous, if for no other reason than I have to meet with four people I do not know and share my life story.

I do consider it a success in that I didn't barf on anyone.

    attn windows backup/ driver dudes

I think i might have to reinstall windows :-/
While attempting to load CS:S on TheMelons's server My Kerio Personal Firewall, being the bitch of the application that it is, decided to jump up and error out in the middle of the loading process. I bring up windows task manager, and basically freezes out. I leave the computer to run while I make my dinner, trying to see if things will get "unfrozen". Of course, this does nothing.

I come back, do a hard restart of my computer and get back into windows. Crazy strange errors start popping up about not being able to initialize my audio driver - I have no audio whatsoever. No problem, right? So I download and start to install the nvidia soundstorm drivers from their website - and recieve the dreaded blue screen of death. I've restarted multiple times and I cannot get into safe mode or anything without a "driver failed to initialize" error. E.G. safemode gives me something like the following BSOD error:
"systemroot\system32\config\software file is absent or not writeable"

SO: My question to you has 2 parts:
    1. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem? I've tried booting from the windows XP cd but for some reason that's not really working.
    2. Does anyone have experience using the auto-backup feature of Windows XP? I backup my files (mp3s, documents, outlook etc) 2 times every week to my larger hard drive, so I could reformat my smaller hard drive, but I've never used the backup utility in Windows XP - does anyone have experience? will it work?
