Been playing Q4 since it came out and am very disappointed, dont buy, the MP has hardly any support, and it takes a mega machine to run it if there are more than 8 people on a server. Maybe mods will help if they come out.

q4 has all that q3 had and more (base MP + team arena) AND it has a great SP portion, it's a definite must buy in my book

The part that I hated was the walker sequence.

id has fallen far imo...maybe they have lost touch with the average gamer...or perhaps I am not the average gamer anymore. (When I played Doom 1 demo when it came out I was in university I think..now Im married with 2 kids)...I guess Im just a crotchety old man now who hates everything (except HL2 which rocks)

It was alright but failed to excite me :/
Felt like Quake3, only ran worse.

I installed the Q4 demo (first one) and played through the two levels. And then quickly uninstalled it as not being interested.
There was way too much shooting. I had to just hold down my button and hose those monsters. The nailgun just made it so I had to hose for not quite as long.
I don't dig on corridor shooters. It's been so long since I played one, I forgot what they were like. But, the first level of the demo is in hallways. The second is in trenches (hallways without a roof). That's all I reemember from D3 as well. I guess these 'old school' FPS's really are old school.
Give me FarCry or BF2 anyday.
But, the engine etc seemed just fine. Didn't blow me away, but it definitely seemed capable.
