If you're having problems with the EA Downloader and Battlefield 2: Special Forces a fix is now available. Unfortunately it is not a download, it requires you contacting EA Support who then get back to you with how to fix it.

seems like gamers are turning into beta testers. First it was Steam, now its EA's crappy downloader....oh and I forgot to mention Blizzard, who everyone here praises like they were god's gift to mankind, had the worst piece of shit peer to peer patch downloader fiasco with WoW I've ever seen.

I know it's an old hat to hate EA now, but seriously, what the fsk is going on with these guys. I mean, how can't they even get file installers to work? The latest BF2 was a big fiasco for me - I had 12gb free on my game drive, but the patch wouldn't install because I only had 2gb free on my C:. Now that I installed it through the pretty crazy manual installation scheme, the game crashes to desktop on start. Seriously. And now this, that seem to be installation-related. What the hell. These guys are distributing files to millions of customers that expect the crap to at least work, how can they manage to get it done so bad?

Electronic Arts need to use their current relationship with Valve to distribute via Steam or something or at least partially use their somewhat usable system rather than this EA Downloader nonsense. We might even get a remotely decent server browser if they did.
