There is a lengthy post on the Seriously! forums by a 2K Games marketing manager, addressing several Serious Sam 2 issues raised by the community. The post covers the lack of a DVD release, the cartoony look, the first demo and overall marketing and Linux support among other things.

  • I finished the game a couple of days ago. It was as frantic and intense as the previous versions... it was a lot of fun.

Turns out that the first demo was from a later level. I wonder why they chose that level, the rest of the game had levels and number of enemies more like the old Serious Sam. Oh well, Croteam really shot themselves in the foot with that one, as the internet buzz wasn't very good after the first demo.

I did run into a couple of bugs where a door wouldn't open even after I killed everything, had to reload the level and redo to get the door to open. I think it happened twice.

  • Only “tried” to play the first few levels before I uninstalled, didn’t feel like the first game at all to me, I’m not sure what was causing the slide show effect or the sound glitches but it just didn’t run very well on my setup. The bobble head art design and over the top “will Sam ever shut up?” dialog just turned me off right from the start. I think I've played free mods with more polish, low priced game or not it didn't even come close to the first one.
