On a slightly related subject, I've always wondered why when an artist wants a (thicker) mesh fence with the wires at a 45 degree angle... Why do they always draw the texture like that and thus give us lots of jaggies, rather than draw the mesh going horizontal/vertical and then rotate the texture in the game, for minimal jaggies? That wouldn't help with the fences I'm nitpicking about because they're too damn thin for the resolution/filtering that's being used (even in the higher res screenshots), but I always wonder that when I see (thicker) mesh fences in other games.

Is the game still set for a release this year?
Steve Hessel: Yup, we’re still on track for a release late this year. We’re currently eyeing the very end of fall to release SiN Episodes: Emergence.

Steam is an excellent platform for getting your game content directly to your audience and putting the original SiN out on Steam has been one of our goals from the start. The version of the SiN that will go up on Steam will be slightly different from the retail version in several regards. The most profound change is probably the way multiplayer works – it is fully integrated with Steam, so the game now uses the Steam server browser and you will be able to use the friends system to track your fellow SiNners.
Holy shit yes!!!!!

These shots imo dont hold a candle to the graphics produced by Valve using the same engine, whats posted doesn't really say to me look at the source engine, they resemble whats been done with unreal and crytek to me.

I really enjoyed the first SiN bugs and all, because I beat it before HL1 came out, so I'm looking forward to revisiting the universe again. Also Ritual did Elite Forces 2 which was a terrific game, crazy amounts of secrets and polish, so I have high hopes for this.

Though I'm not so hot on the cute gimmicky female sidekick addition, I definitely can't wait for the game. Hopefully it has an intro that tops the original's.
