Tabula Rasa Preview

Last year the game shifted from being a fantasy role playing game to being a sci-fi action oriented one.

Lets say we take a game like WoW, with all its content and instances, but we allow contested zones to be captured and controlled by the Horde or the Alliance. Resources, travel, etc through those zones would then be controlled by a given faction. Outposts could be constructed by guilds, npc guards hired (with increasing costs for higher level guards), and passage through a given area could be negotiated.
It would be complicated, but it would add an entirely new political interest to the game. This existed, although to a much lesser extent, in UO, where guilds fought for areas and control over resources, etc.
I dunno. I just think this element would add a lot more player interaction, and move us away from mindless dungeon crawls a little bit.
