It's a damn miracle, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is now available on Steam. The free add-on offers a new singleplayer level showcasing the Source Engine's High-Dynamic Range lighting.

  • I guess I'll join the positive crowd on this one and say that, I personally liked it, I felt it wasn't too drawn out and boring, and the pacing was just right, I give it two headcrabs up!

On the commentary, I thought it was well voiced, and explained everything pretty clearly, I liked how some of the "Voice bubbles" caused the camera to go into a special view mode to do comparisons and such, that was a very good way to go.

Overall I think this sort of thing is the future, and I hope episodic content (Both from gamers (In the form of mods, or maybe even stuff like Black Widow Games is doing with They Hunger: Lost Souls.) and Valve.) continues to push the limits of Half-Life 2, and what Steam can do.
