Quake3 Point Release
by Steve Gibson, Jan 13, 2000 6:29pm PSTid Software has just released the Quake3 Point release on their FTP site. You can grab the file from Stomped , cdrom, 3dag, Blues, and of course here on the Shack server. Here is word from Robert Duffy over at id Software in his .plan update. Feel free to share your mirrors in the comments. Oh yeah, and the Quake3 messageboard will certainly have some interesting threads on this one.
The Point Release ( Win32 version ) is out. It should start appearing on mirrors soon. The three primary fixes in this version over the 2nd beta are: -crash when bots chat on dedicated servers -crash when bots chat under linux -bots no longer "keep" trying to score after they respawn if they died carrying the flagbtw, I'm pretty sure I got all the bugs ironed out on the Todays News link in the date bar. I'll add a few more features to it now that it's working properly.

I agree, this is total crap. They couldn\'t even add a couple of new maps or something. And how much effort does it take to change the network protocol number so that the server browser only shows servers running the latest patch. These guys really need to get off their tree. Enough is enough.

ignore the registration or they\'ll spam you. Much more convenient than using a TSR or something...
And the promised load/save config menu?
Sigh.
Thanks!

TServo, sorry to hear about your troubles, but the source of virus infection cannot be the patch from 3D Gamers.
