Jeremy Soule Creates Oblivion Soundtrack
by Maarten Goldstein, Oct 24, 2005 11:13am PDTFor some reason this announcement slipped through the cracks, but Bethesda announced a few days ago that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will feature music by composer Jeremy Soule. He also scored the previous Elder Scrolls game Morrowind, and has worked on many other games including Guild Wars, Dungeon Siege and Neverwinter Nights.

Bill Brown needs to do more soundtracks. Soundtracks that are seemless with the environment, I mean.
I'd like to see Jesper Kyd do the soundtrack for a fantasy game. The classical theme he did for hitman 2 was epic.

The music in GW is too serene and sedated, especially in battle scenes. Has no punch to it.
I wouldn't call him the greatest composer in video games, but he certainly doesn't deserve the venom some people here have for him...
...but I will. He is a fucking genius.
The TA soundtrack is awesome beyond belief, and if he doesn't write the score for Supreme Commander, I will be severely dissapointed.
Not played Morrowind or Dungeon Siege, so I can't comment on the music. If it wasn't any good then I'm sure he was letting one of his lackeys fill in for him on his day off or something.
It allows you to download new music for a game, but doesn't intergrate it with the game at all, just gives you a bunch of .wmv files :\
I even went online and got more of his music from games. It was good but not Morrowind good.
If you watched the Oblivion presentation you may have noticed the music in the background was mos def Soule, didn't sound exactly like Morrowind but similar atmosphere. That made me happy since I figured Soule was also involved with Oblivion.
On a similar note, the music from Stronghold 1 and 2 is pretty good too, very atmospheric and appropriate for the setting, composed by Robert Euvino.
