I just started up about a month ago and it's been pretty good. I'm a level 24 human priest, currently not in a guild. And am currently shadow spec'd. I haven't been playing a whole lot, but it's been fun.
And now I have a few questions:
Now, I'm afraid of these 10+ hour raids/instances I keep hearing about towards end game. A friend of mine who's been playing for a while has been telling me that the battleground stuff, which I don't know much about ... at all ... allows you to get in good with certain areas, where you can get these uber items that are just as good as those you can get in high level instances.
1. Is this is true?
2. And are the high level instances what one has to look forward to once they hit level 60?
3. Shadow spec priests ... right now I solo a lot, occasionally I manage to get one of the two personal friends that I know on my server to go around with me, so I feel like shadow spec is the way to go .... however, I just did my first instance today (stockades) ... and when you heal heal heal ... the shadow spec stuff isn't so useful ... so would it make sense to keep shadow spec for now, and when I hit 60 and most of my playing time is spent in groups, I change to holy/discipline spec?
4. Engineering and Mining are my professions ... engineering is ok right now, but looks to get really really cool. I just got these target dummy things that are pretty hilarious, a mechanical squirrel that's pretty cool, and some dynamite that does like 100dmg in 5 yard radius. It's pretty useful now, but is it useful way later on? Alchemy seems to be real useful with those potions that give you cool buffs, and being able to make mana potions seems real useful, but I think the cool stuff you can make as engineers is pretty fun.
5. Battlegrounds, just how long do you have to wait? I think I was in queue for about 3 hours yesterday, and just logged. I'm not even sure what battlegrounds are exactly, except a way to get honor kills. What is the best way to get honor kills?
Annnnd that's about all ... if these questions have been asked a billion times, please kindly point me to a faq and i will be greatful, thanks for reading!
oh and while i was in the stockades, the other priest in the group was a mother of 5 .... who .. all ... play ... WoW ............. uhhhh is that common? o_o

We've only watched the first two discs of Firefly thusfar, and have been kinda "meh" towards the series. Don't get me wrong, it's a good show, but it just hasn't excited us much. Highly enjoyed the "kick into the engine intake" scene, so I'm guessing there's hope.
OTOH, we've both been Burton fans for quite some time, and I'm a huge fan of stop-motion...

I come to you in this hour of need. My country, Pakistan, has been hit very very hard by the earthquake, with the Deathtoll currently at 18000, and set to rise as more remote area's are needed. The northern area's of Pakistan are hilly, and most all roads have been destroyed and washed away, making it extremely hard (if not impossible) reach the remote area's by land.
At the moment what we need the most are cargo planes, helicopters, and such transportation, however any and all donations made for this incident can and will help those in need.
The people that got hit the worst by this are the poor, and needy. They didnt have much before, they dont have anything now.
Here is a link for online donation. I could not find a Red Cross online donation for this particular disaster at the moment however im sure they will pretty soon open it too.

The problem with this is that assassin himself stated he would give his own life up for the alliance..he has been brainwashed to do this if necessary for the "greater good"...therefore by attacking the reavers instead of serenity he put saving his own ass as #1 priority

Last night I went out with my family to see Wallace and Gromit. The trailers start and right after the first trailer 3 of the huge ceiling tiles fall onto the audience. For about 15 seconds the audience freaks out, then the next preview comes on and its for.... Chicken Little. Which begins "Some people think the sky is falling." That was so surreal. We all laughed,... sort of. No one was hurt but some people left. After a few minutes of inspection, they compressed us on in the back, roped of the areas with the accident and continued the film.

Now some people say go Dual Core. I'm building this thing to play games only and dual Core won't be taken advantage of in games for another year. So I've opted to buy a processor that is still pretty damned good and $100 bucks cheaper than any X2 chip, but still performs well for games. It also has the memory controller on the chip, like many of AMD's other 64/X2/FX cpus. That addition is very important to me. Now I've also been told to go DFI over Asus. I'm not an overclocker, and after reading several reviews the Asus is the slightly less expensive choice but performs just as well. Originally I wanted to go with a 7800GTX but I can skimp ~200 bucks by going with the 6800GT - and it still supports Pixel Shader 3.0, meaning High Dynamic Range, for HL2 - and thats what I care about most. The 6800GT appears to perform pretty well. Plus if it tanks in price in a few months I can buy a second and SLI them to outperform a single 7800GTX and pay less in comparison (I hope).
The socket 939 also allows me to upgrade to an FX chip in the future, so long as AMD sticks with 939 for a while...
The memory I chose because I've heard good things about Corsair, and with the memory controller directly on the cpu the memory's own speed doesn't really matter, so Tom's Hardware says.
The Neopower is a 480w PSU and has recieved great ratings everywhere.
The Raptor is a very, very fast SATA drive and since I only need this pc for games, I don't need a lot of hard drive space. And if I do need to store stuff, well that's what I have the PlexWriter for.
Any helpful advice from the gurus would be greatly appreciated. I've read a bunch of stuff from PCGamer, PCMaximum, Tomshardware, and comments on here and Newegg, so I think I've built a fairly good system that will run HL2 and some newer games at 1280 or so at a good framerate with the bells and whistles. Too bad I can't get a benchmark out of a machine I want to 'design' before I buy it and put it together...
Only thing I need now is a monitor. I've looked at the Philips 190P5, Viewsonic VP191b, and the Samsung 193p, but my budget is less of the $600 range and more of the 2-350 range. I'd even be willing to drop to 17" as long as it supported 1280.

I got to see the Devils play the Rangers in NJ.
First impression was that everyone was white but I expected that. The wife and I counted some mullets, we got to 15 until we stopped.
The actual game was fantastic though. I know very little of hockey, even having grown up in a great hockey country but the flow of the game was much easier to pick up for a newbie than say baseball or football.
I just loved how fast the game played out. The "Rangers Suck" chorus from the Devil fans was alot of fun.
All in all alot of fun, I think I just became a hockey fan.

I have 169 of 169 events completed, and 169 of 169 gold medals. But aparently I only have 89% of the game completed. So even though on levels 1-10 I have perfect scores I only have unlocked 68 of 77 cars. I only have 50 of 64 challenges completed. 15/24 signature takedowns.
Argh. I worked on getting 100% because I assumed I would get another another kick ass car. But aparently ... no.
